I like books and cats. My profile picture is actually a photograph of my great grandmother.

This might be my first trip where I have no books. I have 6 new ebooks to review on NetGalley, plus a number of e library books and audiobooks. Plenty of things to read and I’m having fun but it still feels like something is missing. My bag is not heavy enough.

Houston has a museum district and it means it. Affordable access to all kinds of art is one of the city's best features. 🔗

I’m working in my garden, pulling weeds and overgrown invasive vines. I pulled this dead wood out of the debris and I saw this frog. He’s all wood, fused to the body of the limb, formed from the fractured growth of another branch. I am certain that he was once a real frog, now enchanted by fairies.

It’s hard to get a photo of my cats with my current reading material when it is in ebook format, but since the dedication page in “The Witness for the Dead” says “This book is dedicated to all the librarians I know.” I decided I should make an effort.

We are on holiday in England. I was able to arrange a visit to the Mesopotamian collections at the British Museum guided by the outstanding Assyriologist and probable wizard, Irving Finkel! Were my children excited or impressed? No. No they were not. Photo of what they are excited about in England.

I would love to post a photo of my latest read with all five of my rescued cats, but anyone who knows cats knows about their feelings on cooperation or their feelings on being in close proximity to other cats. So instead I have posed the book next to my largest cat, Maclunkey.

I started this book during the season of Imbolc. If you want to know how it’s going, I just skipped over to Samhain. I spent the whole weekend on a grad school assignment but now it’s done and I can relax and reflect on nature, while ignoring weeds.
