This was an aggressive act, and though BCTF members are not unfamiliar with governments whose priorities do not include public education, this attack is a unique and severe infringement on the rights protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. 3/8

Canadians must take a stand against this kind of government overreach and infringement on our rights. The BCTF is proud to contribute to that fight with solidarity and significant resources. Alberta Teachers, we are with you! 4/8

The BCTF stands in solidarity with our colleagues in Alberta. Here in BC, we know how heavy-handed legislation against teachers and collective bargaining rights hurts schools, students, and everyone who works in public education. The Alberta government should negotiate, not legislate! ✊ #ABteachers

BC's teachers stand shoulder to shoulder with the workers of the BCGEU and the PEA. This government made important promises to teachers and to everyone in the public sector. And we're counting on them to deliver.

Standing together makes us stronger! ✊ Members of the Greater Victoria Teachers' Association joined BCGEU and PEA colleagues on the picket lines yesterday in solidarity. Fairness and respect in the workplace is worth fighting for! #Solidarity #BCpoli #BCGEU
