I was doing a daily lap through my front yard on Monday, which I’ve converted to a perennial flower garden, and I spotted this cutie popping up. I have no idea how a Pansy ended up in this area (since I didn’t plant it) but I could not be happier. Hopefully our May snowstorm doesn’t take her out 😬

Another photo of my lilac blooms. I planted her three years ago and have waited (impatiently) for the blooms to really show themselves. This is the first year they’ve really come in and it brings me so much joy and hope.

Ya’ll, I have a Columbine flower blooming already. Over a month early 🤯 #coloradowildflowers #columbineflower

On the days I can feel myself getting swept up by the deluge of terrible news, I sometimes have to close everything and just scroll through my memories. I took this photo a few years ago during a work trip to Utah when I took time away from my chaotic schedule to get lost in nature. More of this.

Listening to millennial emo music while going through old photos. Screaming “I’m just a teenage dirtbag baby!” while reliving a backpacking adventure just hits right.

My heart has been heavy lately. I know I’m not alone in this feeling. I spoke with a friend today about how we can’t lose our sense of wonder and joy during these dark times. We can’t lose our joy, humanity, or hope. Sunsets bring me back to this core truth. #joyisresistance #fuckice

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad. The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

I recently decided to revisit an old hobby to help me keep away from doom scrolling about our shit show of a government. It has been very cathartic! And this beauty is giving me little sliver of joy on these cold evenings. #crochetblanket #fucktrump

As the shutdown continues and our federal employees continue to work without pay, I think back on a time when I traveled more for work and never once worried about my safety. It is such bullshit that MAGA is putting people at risk in every way possible: healthcare, aviation, taking kids to school 🤬

The iPhone 17 pro camera is…. Insane. I’ve just been wandering around my neighborhood looking for excuses to take photos. It’s honestly been cathartic and helping me pay more attention to the world around me. This fall evening required no edits whatsoever 🤩

Went on a much needed solo hike with the pups on Saturday to a very popular lake. It pays off to hike during shoulder season. When the fall leaves disappear so do many of the hikers. It had this place all to myself. 🙌

It’s been a beautiful fall in CO. This was about a week before the “peak”. I’ll never get over the golds creeping up the mountains.

I struggle to find the passion I once had for editing my photography and sharing it. The world often seems too bleak to be posting a pretty picture. Recently though, I’ve felt a little more of that joy resurface. Here’s one recently that sucked me in and I’m really proud of. #aspens

I’ve been holding onto this photo of a perfect Glacier reflection for years. Feels like a good palate cleanser as we have more and more lies shoved down our throats by this administration. If you have to redact your name from a doc, you’re in the doc. #trumpfuckskids #epsteinfiles

I spent the weekend in the mountains with limited cell service fully focused on finding all the summer wildflowers. Here are just a few to brighten your day.

A little flower action for your Friday. I was given these day lilies by my 91 year old grandma last year. We like to talk about the joy of gardening while lamenting the fall of democracy. It’s called balance.

Denver Pride parade yesterday. Good vibes all around. It feels good and necessary to be around people expressing joy and boy was there JOY. 🌈🌈🌈

With all the chaos and fear that is being unleashed on the American people, particularly in LA, it is hard to find joy or peace. I feel paralyzed most of the time by the news. If all I can provide is a peaceful photo once in a while that is what I will do. That and donate to ACLU ✌️#fuckfascism

Made my calls to Congress today. Truth be told, I’ve always called after hours due to anxiety about speaking with someone. I got through to an aide for two of my reps and spoke with them about the Budget Reconciliation Bill. Not nearly as scary to speak with someone as I thought it would be 🤗

I haven’t posted a photo in a while. Here’s an image from a hike in Utah last fall. It was a brutal climb up 2,700 feet of elevation but oh so worth it. #lakeBlanche #hikingtherapy

Not a lot to say today. Just recharging before the week ahead with some throwback Disney movies and gardening. How’s your Sunday? 📍Somewhere over the Wasatch Mountains
