If you're one of the lucky people who have preordered an #iPhoneDuo this morning, @chroniclingapp.com is ready 🎉 I wrote a bit more about this on the website, along with an updated press kit: chroniclingapp.com/2026/10/ch...

I was sad to hear that Margaret Hamilton died this week. If you're curious about the software she worked on that helped take Apollo to the moon, I'd recommend this excellent talk by a great colleague of mine from a few years ago

Here's how @chroniclingapp.com looks before making any changes for #iPhoneDuo. Landscape needs a bit more love!

🎉 A few days late due to some major life events I hope to share soon, but @chroniclingapp.com 2.0 is here, ready for #iOS27! 📊 Redesigned category screen: gaps, trends, lifetime stats 🕰️ Time of Day radial chart 🗂️ Group insights 📱 New XL widgets www.chroniclingapp.com/2026/0...

👋 Life has been very busy recently, but I'm emerging from under my rock with some @chroniclingapp.com news! I'm now working on some big additions for v2 to coincide with iOS 27, including ❤️ HealthKit integration for workouts, nutrition, daily metrics and symptoms

Public beta launch! I'm thrilled to go public with Darkfield, my latest app. It's an all-in-one toolkit for amateur astronomers. It's been in the works since autumn and I'm ready to share. Public launch later in 2026. Sign up for the beta now at robowen.io/apps/darkfield/ #iOSDev #indiedev

New in v1.9 of @chroniclingapp.com: pin your most-used categories to the top and archive old ones without losing any data. If you've been around for the nearly 3 years(!) since Chronicling launched this could help keep things tidy 😊

🌈 A rainbow of tint colors is now available in @chroniclingapp.com - apparently not everyone loves orange 😅 This update also includes a light/dark override alongside matching system default #IndieDev

I'm enjoying listening to this excellent album which samples original voice recordings from the Apollo mission era while watching Artemis II coverage album.link/i/1738417407

Thanks to Shaun for sharing this thoughtful review about using @chroniclingapp.com to help track his ME/CFS symptoms. As an indie developer, I can absolutely empathise with the app discoverability challenge! #IndieApp mcgst.com/2026/01/05/there-is...

Inspired by @snazzylabs.com, I picked up an Xteink X4 ereader and I love it. I was tempted by a BOOX Palma but this is smaller, cheaper and less capable which is exactly what I wanted. Shown next to my Kobo Libra Colour at max brightness for comparison, loaded up with Standard Ebooks #BookSky

I was kindly gifted an Ooni oven for Christmas, and I've been having a great time experimenting with wood-fired pizza 🍕 Learning a slow, hands-on skill feels especially rewarding in the age of LLMs, even if the careers survey I did at school suggested I should never do anything using my hands 😅

In case you missed it, the last few @chroniclingapp.com updates have added several most requested features - emoji support, customisable reminders, and the grid view. During December, you can also see your year Chronicled 🎁 #IndieApp

🔔 New in v1.7 of @chroniclingapp.com: Add custom reminder notifications to each category! Set a daily goal, get a reminder after a specified amount of time, or use a rolling goal over multiple days. Active reminders are shown on the app badge.

Thanks @robinkanatzar.bsky.social for giving @chroniclingapp.com an accessibility once over in this video! I will be checking out audio graphs soon

🙂‍↔️ I turned on the head shake to dismiss gesture when I got new AirPods and I've found it surprisingly useful. Particularly good while running and I love the little bleep bloop noises it makes as you move from side to side

This is a great showcase of using Shortcuts with Apple Intelligence by @stephenrobles.com, with links to every example Shortcut included www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wu5X...

🍽️ If you’re in England or Wales, here’s a quick shortcut for #iOS to query Food Hygiene Ratings, with an option to open the result in Maps www.icloud.com/shortcuts/81...

Awesome to see @chroniclingapp.com amongst such excellent company with many of my favourite apps!

☕️ Looking forward to diving into the lovely ebook versions of the @macstories.net OS reviews after a very busy few weeks updating @chroniclingapp.com (thanks for the mention in the Foundation Models section!)

🎉 Chronicling 1.6 is here and ready for #iOS26! ✨ Smart Events transforms your text into structured events 🔎 Unified search tab 🍭 Interactive chart “lollipops” apps.apple.com/us/app/chron...

🙌 Ready to go on Monday @chroniclingapp.com #iOS26

The incentive to upgrade to an #iPhone with Apple Intelligence feels much stronger with #iOS26 and the availability of Foundation Models to third party apps. There's so many quality of life improvements across many different domains in TestFlight betas I've seen #AppleEvent

One of the key things for a tracking app is reducing friction. I’m working on extracting events from natural language in @chroniclingapp.com with Apple’s new Foundation Models in #iOS26 and it’s looking really promising

🔥 New interactive heatmap widget now available in v1.5.8, with options to highlight zero days and hide axes labels

A couple of before and after views of @chroniclingapp.com on #iOS26. Given I use #SwiftUI native elements, most things do pretty much "just work", but I'll be thinking more about the future of the design over the beta season

Working on a new interactive widget for @chroniclingapp.com, aiming for release in the next week or two #SwiftUI #iOS

Jumping back into #Nintendo gaming for the first time since owning a Switch pre-baby in 2021. First impressions really positive - for me the size and weight is the sweet spot between the original and the Steam Deck. Open to game recommendations for things to catch up on! #Switch2

I set up four menu based shortcuts on my Home Screen - mostly opening apps to particular views, or asking for text and sending it somewhere, and it’s really helped make my habitual phone pick ups less wasteful

I am beyond thrilled to finally share this! 🥹 Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day - and Apple sat down with me to talk about how I build accessible apps. 🦾 The interview is now live on the *front page* of the App Store: apps.apple.com/at/story/id1... #GAAD #A11Y #accessibility #indiedev

☀️ With the weather getting brighter every day here in the UK, it feels like a good time to share my sunscreen check shortcut. Set it up as an automation to get a notification each morning letting you know when the UV index suggests putting on some sun protection www.icloud.com/shortcuts/22...

🔢 v1.5.1 includes improvements to the category view, with totals and averages which update with the chart as you swipe through time. New buttons also allow you to jump back to the first ever event and forward to the present day.

After a brief hiatus while doing my taxes (yay!), I’m now exploring adding timed events to @chroniclingapp.com. This uses the existing count field to save minutes or seconds tracked, with an optional target 🍅

One of the most requested features is now available in v1.5 - import and export all of your data to and from csv. Check it out from Settings 💾

Great segment from Devon on what and how to track - unsurprisingly a topic close to my heart 😁 thanks for the @chroniclingapp.com mention!

If you use Octopus Energy in the UK, @robowen.io has made a cool annual recap. No need to be a current user or subscriber of Octoscope. Slightly terrifying to see the carbon number 🌲

Catching up on my podcast queue and sad to hear the Automators podcast is ending - what a great run. I'm sure I'll be digging into the back catalogue for a while yet

Couldn't pass up the opportunity for a play on the @chroniclingapp.com app name... 2024 Chronicled coming soon

Parent brain overflowed into work brain this week when I read out an initialism of a networking protocol during a meeting using phonics 🙃

I'm happy to announce my new game: "The Art of Fauna" for iPhone & iPad. It will launch on February 3rd 2025, but you can pre-order it right now on the App Store: apps.apple.com/app/apple-st... Learn more in this thread 🧵 & please share! #indiedev #TheArtOfFauna

👋 Battersea! Getting ready for @nslondon.com this evening. Hope to see some of you there 😊
