I don't consider that I am the boss of other's people's clothing choices, but also don't feel like I want to have an encounter with the inner butt cheek of persons I am not banging, I am just saying

"... We don't just plonk a LORD JIM on your head. We match it perfectly for colour and texture. We shape and style it so it goes great with your whole body, your whole way of lite. No one will ever know!..." (x.com/LaurenRosewa...) Lord Jim. Australasian Post, 1974.

like it just never includes grabbing a sleazy pizza because you're tired, it's always aspirational eating, a virtue performance in the health=morality mental universe

why are you telling us what you eat unless you're seeking social approval for your eating or implying other people need your approval for their eating eating is not by committee, free yourself -signed, a fat person

I've been told the "freelance pie advisor" is a famous chef who wrote a book about pies. I did not know. I also learned that he models for a friend's clothing store, Anglo Italian in London.

Things in Popeye, a Japanese menswear magazine: — Interview with a "freelance pie advisor" who claims to have tried every pie in London. He names the city's top three pies. — Recurring column from writer who updates everyone on his cats for some reason. — Feature on Parisian grandfather style.

new reply meme just dropped, pass it on

"... Use this cassette to HELP YOU get into scientific meditation easily in the privacy of your own home!..." Amazing Color Meditation. Australasian Post, 1977.

I would also like to comment on the sheer madness of the kerning and type compression here, perhaps foreshadowing that some parts of the mind will be expanded more than others

copyediting a fine art book and a minor infuriation: I am not allowed to restyle or correct anything in painting titles because it might have artistic purpose ... but I've never edited writing by a painter that wasn't full of non-intentional errors (can't ask the dude cos he's dead)

did a cool subject taught by Brotherhood of St Lawrence about their program for pathways out of youth homelessness into employment, they said that when they provide housing it needs to be high-quality and attractive because that psychologically produces the experience of being an employable person

cf out of home care/youth group homes are often dirty, broken down and run like a quasi prison, communicating 'you have no value to society', 'our default stance towards you is hostility', also 'your expected next life stage is going to prison'

thinking about how this stuff actually psychologically produces the experience of high/low class position in the trolley user, like the supermarket will say it's in reaction to who the local clientele are, but it also has the effect of *telling* the local clientele who they are

I like 'ask the internet' as asking can only be done to people, which foregrounds that the internet is made of people, 37 million billion trillion deranged tiny clown people squashed in a microprocessor the size of a fingernail all squeezing their bulb horns
