Dear friends, I'm having an 85th birthday lunch with...the Daleks! I just want to thank you all for the wonderful response to Ben Cook’s DWM interview. Your love and appreciation and friendship over the years means the world to me. And there’s more to come! Love Anneke x

This is a quite boggling read, very enjoyable.

“I deserve this!” A little belatedly (this came out last week), the latest DWM – on sale now! – features my 27-page interview with @annekewills.bsky.social about playing Polly, facing Daleks and Cybermen… and hanging out with John Lennon! Cover art: @leebinding.bsky.social 😍 🧵 Quotes follow…

Agreed. So many marmalade droppers in this interview. The perfect combination of interviewer and subject.

As ever, I am in awe of @benjamincook.bsky.social's ability to get his interviewees to say things I've never seen them say in an interview before. (From the latest Doctor Who Magazine - buy it, it's superb)

Oh yeah, it is the 60th anniversary of Ben and Polly, the Cybermen and the Second Doctor coming up, huh, that just snuck up. Cool seeing Anneke Wills get the ultimate interview treatment, I hope *everybody* gets one eventually!

This wasn’t on my 2026 library card, but… PROJECT: LIBRARY – the YouTube series I co-wrote in 2013 with Tim Hautekiet, @jack-howard.bsky.social & Mike Cannon, starring Mawaan Rizwan & Daniel J Layton – is now an OFF-BROADWAY MUSICAL! 🎶 Opening in NYC tomorrow! 🗽 Details + tickets in the reply ⬇️

“The BBC tender quite a lot of things, and there is not a single show that they have tendered which hasn’t gone on to have multiple series afterwards… Every tender the BBC has ever done is for a show that they are absolutely committed to.” 🔊 Worth a listen. 👀 Link below. ⬇️

SEX!!! Now that I’ve got your attention: Tofu, the 2015 Channel 4 documentary I made about sex and sexuality, is back on streaming to mark the release of Russell T Davies’ devastating new drama Tip Toe. Never seen it? It’s eight episodes of pure filth, with proper heart. Enjoy. 🔗 ⬇️

“I brush up all right, don’t I?” RIP Anthony Head. I interviewed him back in 2006, and he was every bit as gorgeous a human, in every sense, as you’d hope. What a sad loss.

Doctor Who Magazine always has something new and wonderful to offer. This month: Brian Hodgson being fascinating about his crazy Radiophonic life. Where else could one read about theme toon sorceress Delia Derbyshire losing a shoe while boozing and spliffing her tits off in the hills of Ibiza? 😆

The Brian Hodgson interview by @benjamincook.bsky.social in the new DWM is astoundingly good. I’ve fallen a bit in love with him. Getting stoned in Ibiza with Delia Derbyshire! Fancying Waris Hussein! Disproving that Yeti fact! An *excellent* piece of journalism. #DoctorWho #DWM #DoctorWhoMagazine

The latest issue of #DoctorWhoMagazine features an interview with #RadiophonicWorkshop sound engineer #BrianHodgson, who created many sound effects still used today. #DWM continues to provide in-depth coverage of all of #DoctorWho. A digital or print subscription is great value.

Well you can keep your New Yorker! I've reached my Cartoonist's pinnacle! I've got a cartoon in Doctor Who Magazine! The long way round mind you, as its a reprint of one of mine from Big Issue a few weeks back. It's been used in an article about missing episodes.

Benjamin Cook reposted

At my age, 63, the hope of seeing more missing #DoctorWho episodes being recovered was fading fast, until that glorious Easter weekend came along. Now we have a fantastic 35 page section in the latest DWM, something special to remember that wonderful moment, when 97 became 95. Love that cover too!

Reader, I was one of the 'many more'. I haven't had my copy yet so I don't know how much made it into the final version - I'm obviously not the main attraction! But I can now I say I have made it in Doctor Who enough to have been interviewed by Benjamin Cook for DWM.

I love #DoctorWho Magazine’s combined quality of writing and design; e.g. @garygillatt.bsky.social review insight, humour, cross-references; Ben Willsher’s illustrations amuse (a Dalek leans to peer around Mavic Chen who snootily confronts the Doctor in anti-glare visor); a subtle page watermark.
