Videogames is the creative field where creatives are least recognised, most of the time their names are hidden away on the finished product. This is obviously deliberate on the industry's part but the audience enables it when they fail to care about the people who make this stuff.

I work at a well established cake shop in my area, for the last five years we have used real inks instead of edible ones for images on cakes, prints much better and doesnt clogg the printer like the edible ones

Dunno where the YouTube copy came from - maybe a VT viewing copy, made for internal use, which escaped? I'm sure someone with more technical knowledge than me can identify what type of machine would produce that timecode. (It has the TX date on it, so would it have been made after transmission?)

As well as being very low def, it has a pinkish cast and the sound goes out of sync after half an hour and never comes back, so not an optimal viewing experience. I'd absolutely buy a proper release.

Just watched this and I'm amazed it hasn't been commercially released at any point during the folk horror revival. Really good, a really thoughtful take on the material, and I'm sure there'd be an audience for it. (I've checked TV Brain and it does appear to exist in full - presumably on film?)

I don't even know anything about coding but in my last novel, set in the nearish future, I put in a bit about how all the AI-written code is hugely bloated because it just seemed likely to me that it would always add rather than refine and simplify.

I don't claim any great insight here, I'd just seen apps that used to take up 30MB on my phone bloat to 300MB in just a few years while not appearing to be all that different on the surface, and I thought "If you take humans out of this process it's going to be even worse, surely"

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.
