Hello, I'm Ben! I'm an award-losing reporter and games consultant. Here's what I do: 🧑‍🎓 Writing and Reporting Lecturer at University of Greater Manchester ✊ Head of Community at Journo Resources 🤔 Consultant for hire at [redacted] 📝 Games industry reporter and critic www.bensledge.co.uk

A weekend of contrasts for Alexia Putellas. Last night, she won the Ballon D'or Féminin for the third time, arguably the crowning achievement of women's football, which cemented her at the greatest female footballer of all time. On Sunday she went to St Helens.

sometimes reviewing games is a really tough job. for instance, when you really want to be playing star wars galactic racer

A cheeky reminder that I'm available for work and since going freelance I've done cool stuff for Gamespot, VGC, Techradar, GamesRadar, and more to come. If you need someone to cover the latest games, films, shows, and other releases please hit me up. Super eager to get some thngs on the docket 👋🔥

hearing that a main character has a scouse accent in star wars galactic racer versus actually hearing a woman from surrey trying to do a scouse accent in star wars galactic racer

been at an incredibly inspiring and creatively fulfilling indie tabletop games convention this weekend, called SpruCon. this is the only picture I took

this (the con not the pictured faces) may finally inspire me to build boards and warbands for space gits, necropolis, buff this 2141, tonks, and aetherpunk28, though

Sable is probably in my top five games ever, and the Design Works book is just as beautiful. Really interesting to read these reflections and - as I'm off sick this week - might be time for a comfort replay

It’s Sable’s 5th Anniversary! I’ve written some reflections on what the game means to me, and to celebrate I’m delighted to announce that @lostincult.co.uk are reprinting the Sable Design Works Find out more here: www.eteogames.com/sable-turns-...

More true for 10 y/o me than 20, but I've always said I'd be amazed at the fact that I'm a successful* writer, but shocked at what being a successful* writer actually entails. *successful i.e. earning a living from it as my sole** income **transitioning away from it now but you know

I got laid off! 👋 There was no chance to say goodbye to my colleagues of several years before Valnet deactivated everything so I’ll just say it was a huge pleasure to be part of trying to build something unique within the games media landscape despite going up against so many challenges.

The 'ol email and deactivate after 5 years was expected, but still sad. Still, I'm proud of what I accomplished during my time at TheGamer (and DualShockers before that). Now I can spend my days writing ponderous blog posts ✍️

Thanks everyone for the kind words here. I'm one of the lucky ones in that this was just one arm of my freelancing. Other, full-time, staff have also been impacted, so please look to hire them first. But then hire me, too.

It seems I've been made redundant from my role as a columnist at TheGamer - I can no longer access Slack or the CMS. While I'm gutted with the manner I've been let go from a site I've worked with for nearly five years, this means I've got plenty of time to write words for you! www.bensledge.co.uk

I'm especially looking for a home for my tabletop words - I'm on the GW and Trench Crusade partner programmes and have shone a light on a bunch of cool indie games over the past year through interviews and getting hands-on at conventions and events. I also make messed-up Dark Mech conversions.

I've also got time to do more consultancy. My clients this year have been very pleased with the work I've done and I'd love to help your game pre- or post-release through assessments, mock reviews, writing review guides, editing, or anything else. Hmu here, by email, or through my website.

for ay of my fellow wardollies sickos, I've been working on this dark mech conversion recently. still a lot of gaps to fill etc. but liking the silhouette

hopped on the hobby trend of collaging playing cards. accidentally spent 6 hours cutting up old copies of edge and gluing my fingers together

inspired by the 🐐 JB printer on the blink and idk what went on with the ink stamps on this one, but I don't hate the effects both are giving

just got my tax rebate. trying desperately not to immediately click 'checkout' on a warlord titan for hit tabletop game warhammer forty thousand

realistically I don't want a titan. I don't have space for it and I'd never fuckin paint it. but every time my bank account hits four figures with more than a week until the mortgage comes out, I'm tempted
