Introducing The Wandering Studio! We'll be exploring new places, revisiting familiar ones, making drawings, taking photographs, and seeing what happens along the way. I've always thought of making art as a kind of wandering. www.brianfrink.com/the-wanderin...

Clouds and Lake, c. 2015. Watercolor. A rigid grid interrupted by fluid washes. Clouds and reflections become interchangeable as the landscape forms and dissolves. An early exploration of ideas that still drive my work: disruption, instability, and the unpredictable behavior of materials.

Digging through my flat files, I found this from early in the pandemic. The moon was following me around, and I painted a ZILLION moons over water. Sold most of them. Such an odd time. I think people were looking for connection, and somehow these paintings made sense. This might be my last one.

Corot Study, Island Lake. One of a group of landscapes that begin with Corot—not as subject, but as a point of departure. I’m interested in what happens when that history of landscape painting is pulled apart, layered, and rebuilt through my own experience of place.

A source photograph and where it ended up. I’m interested in the distance between the thing seen and the painting that emerges from it. The photo gives me a structure—horizon, brush, trees, sky—but the painting has to go somewhere else. Landscape as departure, not destination.

The morally rotten Jared Kushner talks about seeking a “win-win” in Russia’s war with Ukraine. So the murderous Putin invades Ukraine, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths while Ukrainians fight courageously to keep their independence, their democracy & lives. Yet Jared wants Russia to get a win.

“WE’VE HEARD THAT BEFORE.” Newsmax (!!) reporter @Shelby_Wilder calls out Kushner & Witkoff for failing to rein in Putin + stop the war as Trump promised —asks what will change. Kushner rambles for 2 mins, says nothing. (Because Putin runs the show) www.instagram.com/reel/Dc9WD3K...

The Epstein Class and the current president are Terrified….. If the details in the Epstein files are so vile that they could destroy your presidency, then maybe your presidency deserves to be destroyed.

Funny how the “law and order” crowd can shrug at Orangolini’s assault on the Capitol, then turn around and lecture immigrants about respecting the legal process. For MAGA, “law and order” mostly means laws for other people.
