To transfer/apple all line edits to my main document! (And next week the goal is to have my query letter... mostly ready to go.)

Applying my line editor's feedback when I see these gems around the midpoint scene: "Oh, you spineless asshole – have you learned nothing??" "You utter prick." "Oh fuck you, Viktor." "Get fucked." 😂 Words only a true Viktor fan could conjure. (I love my line editor, haha.)

Because I did lil edits while I was waiting for my line edits I now have to manually transfer over every... single... edit into the main document instead of mass accepting. Every changed punctuation and suggestion. 🫠 Oof.

Slowest reader in the world. The issue is my brain is usually juggling way too much at once and struggles to focus. It takes a long time to get through a novel, even when I love it. 🥲

I downloaded my preorder of @theeldervampire.bsky.social’s book “The Witch of Eden Hollow” and THAT LAYOUT 😗👌 oof the skill. I grinned like an idiot when I saw the chapter art.

Returning home today full of pasta and with a lingering cough (we both got sick so our honeymoon was a bummer haha)! Can’t wait to crack into the line edits awaiting me and get querying next month 👁️👁️

Having my line editor email me multiple times throughout her edits to tell me how much she adores the novel feels great... but it also feels like my mom telling me I'm cool, haha. 😆 (I'm very thankful though!) But good news: we're on track for OTBTA to head to query by the end of October! 🤞

My secret is that the lightening strike for OTBTA was from a string of Frankenstein Jayvik fanarts. Comets' art being the biggest inspo of the lot. 🖤 OTBTA is in absolutely no way related to Jayvik (Jayce is worlds nicer than my Viktor, haha) but it gave queering Frankenstein a face for me.

Viktor dominates the narrative until "the monster" breaks free, then we get his POV. Once they reunite, the POVs are tugged back and forth between them. Robert Walton also gets a little tiny POV as the nod to the OG. Characters get POVs based on who narratively holds the power at that point.
