Documents like these are insightful because they suggest the government is knowingly acting out of step with public opinion (and many of their own voters):
Canadians want to prioritize clean energy over fossil fuels, Carney government told in internal report New public opinion research commissioned by federal government shows a majority of Canadians want to see Canada become a clean energy superpower

It's not *just* that interest costs are high; it's that we're getting nothing of value in return. No mass transit. No transformative technological advancements. No life saving medical advancements. No jobs. No sustained economic growth. Just billionaires getting richer.
A trillion dollars in interest expense — in one year. And a 100 basis-point rise across the yield curve would drive up 2027 interest costs by another $310 billion. “A snowballing of debt.” @bloomberg.com www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Don’t forget: billionaires are using their grip on social media and the news to convince us that peaceful protests don’t work, our vote doesn’t matter, and that both parties are the same. They’re spending billions on it.
If protesting didn't work, would those in power be doing everything they can right now to vilify protestors and crack down on free speech? Activist and author Annie Leonard offers an important history lesson on why protest is so important — and why it's needed now more than ever.

Every dime of that pay goes directly back into the economy. I don’t know what people don’t understand about that. Higher wages allows people to purchase the very things that companies sell. If they all raised wages, they would all sell more shit. How difficult is that to understand?
"Is that the key for the TLR building?" "No, that's the key for Room 52." Ohh, I crack me up.
We are a very old building. We have lots of keys. We have lots of keys that don’t open anything. Join us for a one off installment of, “Keys of the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall that are pretty but completely useless”. 🔑 🧵
You find some cool stuff on Bluesky. On Thursday I take this picture (sunflower) and on Saturday I find an entire account of similar things!
