A side-effect of this is that it makes even the messages about cool, human-made projects intolerable to engage with. Whenever any message comes in, whether it’s a project I would like or not, I taste bile in my mouth and I’ve got to just throw the message out

If your AI chatbot is telling you to contact us with five paragraphs of pleading to give your MTG project the legal go-ahead and a little kiss on the forehead: just don't. We can't give you legal advice and we don't want to hear about your vibe app.

When I was a kid, it was renting Chrono Trigger from the video store and playing a New Game+ someone else had unlocked without any idea what that meant. I went years without being an active gamer, but played Deltarune and reminded myself that not only do I love games, but I want to make games too

Since the announcement of our union, Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro have hired Fisher Phillips (a union avoidance firm), and chosen to engage in a daily union-avoidance campaign by sending emails to the Arena team that is spreading misinformation and sowing fear among our colleagues. #uwotc-cwa

Parenting coaches: take my Lowering Demands to Peacefully Parent Your Deeply Feeling Spicy One Me: welcome to Clown Parenting

Alyssa Barringer@alyssakaye.bsky.social

For averting/de-escalating intense kid meltdowns, no coach/parenting book/therapist/class has been as helpful to me as having done a bunch of improv. A PDA support group invited me to further explain and teach some games. It’s tomorrow, free on Zoom, anyone is welcome, just email them.

Hell yeah, if you need me, I’ll be standing outside the hasbro offices with a boombox blasting the @themountaingoats.bsky.social rendition of Solidarity Forever

United Wizards of the Coast - CWA@uwotc-official.bsky.social

Hello World, we’d like to introduce ourselves. We the workers of the Magic: The Gathering Arena team have come together to unionize as United Wizards of the Coast - CWA! 🧵 unitedwizardsofthecoast.com/news/announcing-united-wizards-coast-cwa

I worked at Bandcamp (at the time, owned by Epic Games) and it had the best health insurance I will ever have in my life. Every Dr’s office did a double take whenever they saw it - several asked if I was a CEO.

Very grateful for Bandcamp’s union, that negotiated as part of our severance a total of 6 months of health insurance post-layoff - this allowed my family to get some much needed medical care without worrying about not having a job to pay for it.

So all that to say, even in the broken healthcare system we have, it’s the very least that Epic Games could do for this family to take care of their health expenses. They have the means, and a precedent to make exceptions, and they are choosing not to.

My kid and I are on our 3rd read through of the @ryannorth.ca / @ericafails.bsky.social run of the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. And I suspect when we conclude it, we’ll immediately pick up the @shannonhale.bsky.social novels for a re-read.

Kelly Barnhill@kellybarnhill.bsky.social

Friends, I thought you should know that I decided to re-read Goose Girl by @shannonhale.bsky.social because my heart was needing comfort and it is just as good as I remembered, and also, Shannon is a national treasure. Thank you for your attention to this matter. And please share your comfort reads!

Picked this up on this recommendation and finally finished it. My first visual novel - there were several scenes throughout the game that really got me in the feels in ways that were completely unexpected. Bravo @kinmoku.bsky.social

The guy who took this video is 17. The kids are all right. Be like them. Down with ice thugs. Hands off our kids.

Fort Christmas XV, constructed by @bladebarringer.com and the kids. It’s the first time I’ve been hands off with the annual blanket fort. My stupid little back injury wouldn’t really let me bend in the way I’d have needed to bend to execute the kids’ design.

Alyssa Barringer@alyssakaye.bsky.social

We have (accidentally) convinced our kids that Fort Christmas is a widely known Christmas Eve tradition, instead of just a thing we started doing when we first got married. What is to stop you (yes you!) from building a fort out of whatever’s around?

Another episode of Christianity on the Spectrum has been unleashed onto the world, in this episode me and @alyssakaye.bsky.social try to answer a lot of the questions that I have been getting about Autistic Christians and Fundamentalism.
