Too weird to live, too rare to die. I created Sagexpo.org a long time ago, dabbling in game development for 20+ years. They used to pay me to write. People seem to like my Youtube videos. http://blazehedgehog.bltn.net/

I've been saying this more with the rise of AI and people using it for "ideas" and "conceptualizing." For the last 70+ years, an "ideas guy" in the entertainment industry has been close to worthless. Everyone has ideas. Ideas don't make anyone rich. Who makes it and how it's made is what matters.

I had a taxi driver ask me what I did once and then relentlessly hound me about his idea for a game which he was terrified I would steal. Finally, he whispered, “it’s like Grand Theft Auto, but for the whole world.”

"Half-Life restored my faith in gaming." - GAMESPOT.COM A Wayback Machine peek at the Sierra Studios page for Half-Life a month after its release in November 1998. Dripping with praise after its smash success launch and glittering after a landslide of Game of the Year awards.

Tim running his mouth got me mad enough that I went over to Twitter and yelled into the void from my locked account. He'll absolutely never see my reply, but sometimes you just gotta blow off some steam.

Steam's AI disclosures are akin to "forcing developers to list their voting history", says man who must hate seeing eggs virtue signal that they're free-range. https://bit.ly/4yHFEyK

What's Tim gonna do when AI implodes? Is he going to blame the rest of the world for taking his crutches away, or realize his mistake in pretending to need them?

Discord saw people complaining about the death of forums and how bad it was for community knowledge to be locked up inside a chat room and made the most ass backwards decision about it possible

This baby is not chipped! Trying to find her owner, but will need a foster in the NYC area (can’t have her in my apartment, already at the pet limit). She’s around 4 to 5 years old, staffy mix (I think with pug). A little skittish, but very sweet and silly. Please signal boost!

anthropic's exploding lol it went public, we find out the company's debts are like $650 billion dollars. It's valuation was based on like a ton of IOUs. a week ago those IOU holders were selling them off. in china right now, the bubble is very much popping and $450 billion vanished overnight. hm

So when I convert video files in Handbrake, my "conversion complete" sound is the Tekken 3 announcer. I'm sitting here watching Tree House of Horror when suddenly the conversion ended with perfect timing

Anyone else going as Pumpkin Hill from Sonic Adventure 2 for Halloween this year or just me? 🎃⛰️ The costume has a treasure hunting minigame where you can move Knuckles across the “level” and the radar necklace will blink as you get closer to the hidden emerald in the pockets 💎 I love Halloween!!

Maybe this is the old man in me finally coming out, but through Letterboxd I have noticed a number of movies I grew up loving as a kid where the reviews are "we had to turn it off because it was too scary." I was, and am, an anxious MESS, but you're saying Harry and the Hendersons is too scary?
