Finished FLCL Shoegaze. was basically season 3 but faster. very good. not quite as good as s3 I think but it's very close. They did the nonlinear storytelling from Grunge and did it right. Definitely my favorite female lead. also a fun queer twist!

with how disappointing FLCL Progressive was I was not expecting to be absolutely floored by Alternative. Successful subversion after successful subversion while fully understanding the show's relationship with adolescence. Made me remember feelings from being 17 I had forgotten about.

finished FLCL Progressive. Not as good as the original to no one's surprise, but enjoyable. episode 4 and 5 were almost on par even. incredibly weak and disappointing finale. going to watch the other 3 seasons. pray for me.

my first video game was super mario bros. the first game where I started to appreciate video games as a medium was probably earthbound. I've been playing games since I was 3 so it's hard to pinpoint. but the most meaningful first time video game experience I had was Yume Nikki.

I think a huge appeal of vsynths has always been "writing for a character" as opposed to strictly "adding a vocal hook to your track without a human vocalist". also why vsynths have largely avoided the "replacing human singers" discourse for so long (from people who know what they're talking about).

Just really don't see why you can't create a character and appeal to producers of different genres. third party developers have been doing it pretty well with Solaria and such.
