Just realized the horrible upper back pain I was feeling was due to the memory foam cushion I'd been sitting on to relieve pressure on my ass. Guess it was forcing my spine into odd shapes. I think a new chair is in my future.

Ace Combat 8 is my GOTY and it's not even close. It's extremely close to the best I've played, though I've not played 4 - a major blind spot. 2 and 5 will always have a special place in my heart, but 8 is utterly sublime.

Having played quite a bit of Microsoft Flight Sim career mode it turns out that, once you're at cruising altitude and have your autopilot set to NAV, the game becomes Microsoft Babysit-The-Radio simulator, where you can experience the thrill of being a receptionist at 20,000 feet.

A memory just resurfaced of getting to drop a hard/cheesy line. On my last day at DWP in Erdington I went to the Subway I was a regular at. The server had come to recognize me and, as ever, said "See you later!". Knowing I'd never return there, I simply responded "No, you won't." and walked away.

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him

Anyone ever watch that anime GATE? The one where the JSDF fight fantasy armies? It's the most problematic thing I've enjoyed and is my guiltiest pleasure. The author is an ultranationalist, it reads like fascist military propaganda, but...a dogfight between an F4 Phantom II and a dragon tho...

Do I make the financially responsible decision to pay down a bit of debt, thus enabling me to have an emergency loan source in my back pocket and 80 bucks a month now available to spend, or do I take a trip that I may never get another opportunity for...

While out running an errand a nice young lady offered me two free shots. Couldn't say no to that, though I did feel a little bit of a prick. So now I'm up to date on my flu and COVID boosters. Get your vaccines, folks!

When someone posts Edward Norton's Nazi character from American History X on TikTok and the poster and all the comments are "True Facts" and "This is happening fr" I can't help but put my hand up and ask whoever has the power to stop this reality because I want to get off.

Always a yank to have to realize a content creator I admired is good buddies with people who platform and support pro-Zionist organizations funded by Israel, but integrity is more important than having content to watch. Unsubscribed.

Just learned that Ghost of Yotei will not be coming to PC. It made me not want to continue playing Ghost of Tsushima. It's just pointless tribalism that won't increase console sales, it'll just mean lower game unit sales. Sony are in the "utter idiocy" part of the cycle, like during the PS3 era.

This was a response to a - rather cool - suggestion of converting abandoned malls into retirement homes or affordable housing. They don't seem to realize each retail unit has an employee restroom. The demand would reduce, not increase. No new infrastructure needed.

The sewage is an enormous issue. A project like that could easily demand larger sewer mains, hundreds of laterals, and a potentially expansion of the wastewater treatment plant itself. We’re talking tens of millions of dollars for something that most people don’t even think about.

I feel like Faith is Hope's evil twin. Hope compels you to work toward a desired outcome while acknowledging evidence it may not happen. Conversely Faith compels you to work toward a desired outcome assuming it will happen, despite evidence it may not.

Fun facts: From 2003 to 2010 my hometown of Birmingham hosted a series of Ferris Wheels at Christmas, each of them 180ft tall. In more recent years, including 2025, have been a more modest 130ft tall. The one on the Mall in DC? 110ft.

Heavy thunderstorms and flood warnings in Austin tonight, so I did what any sensible person would do and fired up Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and challenged myself to fly a Spitfire Mk IX into the maelstrom. Fly the Unfriendly Skies.

I used to bag on the "How many more letters are they gonna add to to LGBTQIA+" as a dumber man. But having discovered the term Demiromantic, which describes me so well, it's a sense that you are "real" in the world. So add more letters. Add ALL THE LETTERS! Happy motherfucking Pride, y'all!

I would like to propose a law that sets the minimum wage to $25/hr or 0.000001% of the net worth of the net worth of the company's most valuable executive or shareholder per year, whichever is higher. Bezos would be paying each worker $280,000 per year Musk would be paying $3 million.

Cult of Personality is the weapon of the enemy, Mark. We will not use it. Lionizing a leader who was not perfect or truly progressive under the auspice of No Kings Day is as ironic as it is upsetting.

Saw a comment on the "Convertible in the Rain" episode of Mythbusters saying "They should have used a Hellcat". I had to point out: 1. There was no stock convertible Hellcat. 2. The Hellcat launched 6 years after the episode was filmed. 3. The Mythbusters are not time-travelers.

I'd like anyone following me to perhaps lend a hand to a lady without whose generosity our community would have far more difficulty doing what it does. A donor and cheerleader for YEARS, now I ask we give back to one of our own. gofund.me/1a29abfb0

Openly weeping listening to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls - a laser focused reminder of a safer, uncomplicated childhood. It's looking back on myself unburdened and it hurts to compare the weight we are forced to bear. Don't test me now, because all my optimism has been turned to raw, cold fury.

I want to do a live action homage to the Star Bomb classic "Luigi's Ballad" with myself as Luigi, Forrest Valkai as Mario, Sofia Spina as Peach and Doctor Ben as Toad. I will not be taking any comments or arguments - SUCK IT!
