I live in a quiet but relatively high town where nobody protests anything.
But I decided to go for a walk and put up chalk writing at the intersection saying “FDT” (F*** Donald Trump) at that intersection. Just those three letters.
Hot take: AI can solve the halting problem because the idea that the halting problem is undecidable assumes a static program evaluating whether a program with infinite run time potential will eventually halt.
It is true the proofs will become arbitrarily complicated for certain programs. But what I am saying is that because the size and maximum length is mathematically finite (even if it is effectively infinite), given enough time, an AI on an infinite world would solve it by learning and adapting.
I have a Fedora laptop with 16 GB of RAM. I use zram and swap to give myself effectively unlimited memory. It never lags for more than a second on window transitions.
Linux is a resource saver, and it's easier than many people think.
8 GB of RAM works well on Linux. 4 GB is where it starts getting laggy but a lot of that is that computers with that much RAM don’t usually have good hardware in the other parts in general but it’s still manageable unlike Windows 10/11.
Spoiler: it's Android, which is technically Linux based.
(ChromeOS is also worse than Windows for the same type of reasons: forced accounts, pushes to use the cloud, and no easy removal.)

If someone says "Mac is Linux", they are either joking, or have basic understanding of Linux's command line and see the commands work across them (or the other way around).
The blue supernova scenario is that Republicans have frontloaded their votes disproportionately and Democrats have a huge pool of voters waiting for Election Day
If I could guarantee the outcome of FIVE key races this cycle here's what I would choose:
Texas Senate: James Talarico
Texas Governor: Gina Hinojosa
Kansas Senate: Adam Hamilton
New Jersey 7th House: Rebecca Bennett
Vermont governor: Amanda Janoo

I grew up Catholic & went to parochial schools , but am now an atheist . Anyone advocating for putting religion/ Bible in schools needs to listen. Our kids don’t need religion.

The 18-29 vote is much higher than other early votes especially in NYC historically. I’m surprised at the lower unaffiliated share. That tends to be relatively R leaning in NY though it still very likely has more D votes especially this year.
Mamdani’s work paid off!
In recent elections in New Jersey, in person early voting has been the MOST Republican vote category. If that holds (no guarantee) it's an extinction level event in NJ and probably nationally given the other states

Given how in person early voting historically correlates to Election Day turnout and by extension actual results Democrats could flip 2 House seats in New Jersey and crack 40% of the vote in deep red NJ-4 (roughly coextensive and copartisan with Ocean County).
Democrats definitely aren't winning by 60 or even 40 percent nationally but still, this shows a historic loss for the GOP is coming. (But we all need to vote, assuming you haven't already).
In terms of early election indicators, Florida will likely be the indicator for the blue tsunami if it happens.
If Byron Donalds (R) is down or no clear leader, especially with a clear Republican party registration lead, it means a blue tsunami.
Hidalgo County, Texas (the most Hispanic large county in America) is turning out at historic levels.
Even though high turnout was bad for Democrats in 2020 and 2024, this time is very different. The electorate alone swung 13% and that's not even including the high amount of 2024 nonvoters.

There is a chance Talarico hits Clinton level margins there even if Republicans hold their 2020 vote total because polling and anecdotal data says these low propensity Hispanics were turned on by ICE attacking their communities and racist rhetoric.
I feel like it’s weird how even though college is perceived as left wing its structure is very right-libertarian. No aides. Limited accomodations. Same tests for everyone. Payments required for something that is actually free in many countries. And so on.

I’m saying this as an autistic person who started college in 2022 not realizing how f*cking unfair it is. I did very well in community college but now doing a university even with accommodations. University is a completely different animal.
This is very bad news for Republicans: their turnout has weakened in red suburban areas like Montgomery County (not shown directly here) despite turnout holding strong in other areas.
Brazil’s right wing candidate Flavio Bolsonaro is expected to lose based on overseas vote station counts and internal exit polls, which would make him the first candidate to win a Brazilian presidential election in the first round to lose the runoff ever.
If we something like Democrats sweeping the election but Michigan and Wisconsin vote 5% redder but still give Democrats trifectas, they need to pass the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact there.
If they pass it in all three, they only need Arizona OR Nevada to sign on to do it.
Here's the thing from a Linux laptop owner. Linux users tend to be the "superusers". Roughly speaking, *on average* (among personal computer users):
Windows laptop: 0-80 percentiles of computer skills
Mac laptop: 80-95 percentiles of computer skills
Linux laptops: 95+ percentile of computer skills

Why is Linux mostly restricted to the top 5 to 10 percentiles? Because to be a Linux person you have to actively distrust corporations.
Mac goes in 80-95 percentile because Mac users tend to be more into building stuff in certain ways (not because it's "fake Linux" [eh BSD]).
What I mean is I see a lot of designers love Mac for building things because of Apple's designs. Choosing a Mac means you like the Apple asthetic which tends to indicate more intellectual ability but not at the same level as a Linux user.

The early voting data suggests a historic collapse in Republican turnout. If that holds, and independents overwhelmingly break for Democrats as expected, we are looking at a blue supernova, not even just a blue tsunami.

The "Latinos are swing voters now" take will have mostly aged like milk in the next 10 years as Republicans never come close to their record 2024 performance because of the voters they activated.
Latinos became swing voters in California in the 1990s and 2000s but never really looked back.
