MCP is imperfect, but we now expect our tools to allow our agents to execute full workflows reliably and efficiently. I've migrated away from Figma, Webflow, and Looker over the last year because they expose little to no working surface to external agents.
Figma co-founder Dylan Field thinks MCP is not a perfect protocol
.@pfrazee.com is mostly right in this thread, but this framing feels a bit off. Horses are great and people experience joy riding them! Hand coding will remain irresistible fun! The highway analogy is apt if you are on a team with AI adopters--refusers are not going to help that team.
People who aren’t using AI to code at this point are delusional or lying, trying to ride a horse down the highway and backing up the traffic instead of asking “what can we do to make cars safer and electric.” They have no ethical high ground
This is Dolly filling in for Paddington in the near future
It's disgusting that this unpopular clown is using Dolly Parton's death to ride on her legacy of generosity and popularity. He has to use AI because Dolly Parton was never photographed with Donald Trump in real life. Because he is everything she disliked: selfish, dishonest, mean, and rude.
I try so hard to cultivate summoning the words "so what do you think you'll do about that?" It's very hard to unlearn your own expectation of having an immediate answer for anything your kid throws at you but seeing how they work through challenges themselves is priceless and, after all, is THE JOB
Put differently: Once your kid gets (roughly) two-thirds of the way to 18, a lot of parenting is best done as backwards planning. At that point, you have six years to give them enough responsibility/accountability that they'll be ready to live independent lives + be someone's roommate.
Maybe an underappreciated additional harm that monopolistic, enshittified platforms inflict: they give many people the impression that this is the *only possible* version of that type of system.
More broadly, are you aware that there is an entire field of people who are professionals in the practice of understanding how social networks function, and how to design them for social good? That *most* social platforms are healthy — the giant fascist networks are the dangerous exception?

I find GIMP hard to use. It's not a diss on GIMP, and I'm pretty good at most normal life skills. It's a very full featured image manipulation program and I use it about once every 3 months. Yes it's mostly clicking on pictures but there are a lot of them and their behavior is not always obvious.
Self-defense striking the last half of a pint of Ben and Jerry's before my family gets to it
🚨 BREAKING: Shortly after Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported explosions near the strategic port city of Sirik, CENTCOM announced that U.S. forces had begun what it is calling “self-defense” strikes against Iran at Trump’s direction in response to the downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter.
Even AI haters have to admit how good it is at telling us how indifferent or hostile many leaders are to their own employees
Exclusive: Unionized tech workers at the New York Times have filed grievances accusing management of using AI-powered performance tools to track and discipline staff. The Tech Guild says recent disciplinary notices appear to be generated using one of the tools. 🎁 www.theverge.com/ai-artificia...
When the market fails to adequately provide a good or service that we the people need, the standard for success of the govt is not whether it "works" relative to the market (which sucks in the situation, remember?) This will make some folks mad :). The best way for these grocery stores to work is if they use AI to get an edge over private grocery stores. AI is the one way for the state government to out perform private enterprises.
