I'm aware of this place unfortunately being run like the rest of big tech, what with their AI agenda dominating how they operate. It's sad that it's still one of the few decent options. That however is thanks to its community. Let's not act like they're complicit in the company's goals.

Ideally we shouldn't have to deal with management so antithetical to the userbase it gained. Alas, with how insular and trendy the tech ecosystem is, and it being hard to operate without selling out, there's always gonna be downsides until suddenly exploitation is no longer profitable.

Perhaps we were fooled again that Bluesky would actually be different. I feel the signs were always there. But despite this disconnect, the community at large feels more organic and sincere in their beliefs. Very important in our current hellscape of ads, rage farming and opportunism.

Besides the great characters, animation and writing, I feel the secret sauce to Wander is being one of the very few shows to balance its silly, dark and emotional beats near perfectly. It sounds like it shouldn't work, but it kept the show engaging. Quite a few times it succeeded at all 3 at once.

While the show at heart is mainly spaced out comedy with a strong friendly pathos, it pushed well above the mindless kids cartoon stereotypes. Heck, I'd even argue it did the serious themes better than many of its peers that were more focused on story.

There's been a lot of WoY gushing on my feed and I don't apologize for that. All I wished is that I got into it when my creativity peaked. I definitely would've done a bunch of fanart. I'd still like to, but I've had trouble recapturing the creative magic.
