Without taking anything away from the MIL pitching, which has been fantastic, three of the top six hitters in the TB lineup tonight are Ryan Vilade, Ben Williamson, and Johnny DeLuca.

I mean I'll take it but it's weird that they keep choosing to not start Aranda and are having Caminero hit fourth behind a guy who's hitting .111, they have better options

The World Series is making this feel like the week between Christmas and New Year's when nobody knows what day it is and everyone is full of cheese 💙💛⚾

Kinda glad the Freddy game is in Tampa because I don't want the home crowd booing my favorite pitcher of the last decade

He's had the yips a little this postseason, but that's forgivable (imo) considering he's 24 and has never pitched in a postseason before

I'm no expert but IMO fantasy is when supernatural is real (there are deities and shit walking around) and sci-fi is when the stuff is all meant to be explicable (there are obviously a lot of blurry lines, like Dune having elements of both)

I don't think the implication in most fantasy is that saying the magic words is actually just a trigger that activates a technology sufficiently advanced such that it seems magical, it's meant to be inexplicable "real magic" that works via some kind of divine influence

But I do think there's a difference in-world of, like, "read this incantation out of an old book and it somehow causes stuff to happen IRL" versus "we created the torment nexus"

The thing is, it's not like all the bigger markets weren't in the tournament. The Rays had to knock out the Yankees and the Brewers had to knock out the Dodgers

Rays-Brewers has to be the most random World Series of my lifetime. It would be like a Texans-Bucs or Panthers-Bengals Super Bowl. It's weird. I like it.

Passenger rail!

Governor Tony Evers@govevers.wisconsin.gov

We've been working hard to expand passenger rail in Wisconsin and ensure folks have the connected, 21st-century transportation infrastructure they need and deserve. This is great news for our state. www.gmtoday.com/the_freeman/...

Facebook directly meddling in elections to try to help elect fascists globally, but lets just keep using it to organize all our kids' school clubs and shit

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.
