Ah, but the recipe should exceed the bake, or what’s the next bake for.

Rushed the first proof yesterday, so today's sourdoughs didn't fully open and have a dual-tone rips that show where they bread almost fully sealed during the bake and changed course at the last moment

When I produced cold brew we avoided botulism by just introducing some oxygen at the beginning of the production process and pushing that through the entire system into the packaging. Just a little oxygen actually makes the brew taste better and obviates the botulism risk.

This plus the government kibosh on Anthropic is being interpreted by market as signals of further support to come for Grok.

NEW: the US government intervened Monday on behalf of xAI in a lawsuit over its gas turbines, claiming that the company needs to run the turbines in order to power Grok, which is "vital" for national security lots of wild stuff in the filing:

The blue tea party started the moment they passed the Laken Riley Act. You'd have had to have been a moron to maintain high trust for the party after that. That charismatic candidates can scoop up that dissatisfaction and push it towards technocratic ends is excellent news!

Sanctioning Russia is good and moral even to the extent it just hurts their economy. Russia's economy is one of the key reasons that time has become a negative war factor for them. The longer the war goes on, the more it turns into a tug-of-war of economies and sanctions accelerate that calculus.

All I hear is that Trump and Russia both know time is no longer on their side in this war

I enjoy checking in on fintwitter occasionally and yesterday most of the discussions were 1) why isn't oil in the 80's given the done deal, and 2) asking chatgpt to rate their IQs based on chat histories. The average hovered around 130, no duds in this bunch thank you.

Very good piece. So much of planning and management is just trying to figure out what's going on--i.e., measurement. Kind of like writing, the typing is the last part. Changing org and gantt charts is not what takes the most time, though those latter tasks are probably the easiest to automate.

The judge in the Musk v. Altman case just thanked and dismissed the jury before saying the law's work "wasn't done". Then his hands sucked back into his arms and were replaced by buzz saws, like Mega Man. I am on the scene reporting and will update you all as things proceed.

all claims barred by statute of limitations, the jury finds

Naturally, the result of the market's current Kenyesian beauty contest resulst in stocks going up in tandem with oil prices rising. The latter is interpreted as driving Trump to cave, which would drive bulls into stock.

We're on a roll, in that it's time to roll, starting with the corners. Unlike most dough rolling, you put uneven pressure on left and right to focus on specific areas. This works best with a bowed rolling pin instead of a conventional straight one.

Can't believe my wife skipped the closing session of a conference that was headlined by a magician. Something about going for a walk instead watching carnie yell at a crowd "If I can steal your nose, I can steal your clients"

The reusable box-bag is the most revolutionary grocery conveyance technology since the grocery cart. It's on the level of putting wheels on luggage--I feel stupider for not having thought of it.

I'm sorry Mr. President, I once again understimated your brilliance. Why contemplate the U.S. navy vs. Iranian navy and merchant shipping in open waters when we can put marines within range of FPV drones on oil island? I maight actually cry myself, sir. Big, manly tears of joy, of course, sir.

Mr. President, I have terrible news. Operation Make-Jamie-Dimon-Poor is going unwell, sir. We thought bombing Iran into blocking Hormouz would wake up those punks on Wall St., but they're all micro-dosing K-holes, sir! We're going to have blockade Hormouz ourselves to wake them up, sir.

The "nothing ever happens" folks have entered the "it's in everyone's best interest to not do this" phase, as if that's not true of every war. Welcome to the tragedy of the commons fellas, you new here?

The "sell the news" price reactions suggest the "nothing ever happens" traders are still locked in despite things very much happenning.
