FINALLY we are ready to reveal Knowbooks! Check them out below and let us know what you think! Brought to you by Google, a group of people who's "mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible"

Aloha, I'm Breck. And this is Stephanie. And everything you see and hear in video below was recorded by us and edited by me in iMovie. What you'd expect for kids who grew up in 80's and 90's. We'd like to invite you to a one of a kind event. Knowbooks Launchation, Hawaii, Nov 4 - Nov 6.

Added thermal paste to the MacBook Air to reduce thermal throttling under sustained load. It no longer throttles under sustained 100% GPU load, the bottom surface though is 124 F/50 C.

Have you ever wanted to see a map of how a specific #minecraft seed generates? But you are playing with datapacks that modify worldgen? I've got an online solution for you: map.jacobsjo.eu (Works with some mods too, but not with all) #mcdev #DatapackShowcase

If you want to work for the #FSF, we're hiring for the new role of Engineering and Certification Manager: https://u.fsf.org/4av #job #FreeSoftware #GNU

Things of Science (1940 - 1989) sent hands on experiment kits to 40,000+ homes in the US. That collection was almost lost to history, but earlier this summer, we acquired the remaining kits, and are now slicing them, scanning them, and training an AI model so kids can learn right from their phones.

I've been relatively quiet the past 6 weeks working on Scroll 2. Scroll 2 has a radically simpler design (figured out a few small compounding improvements), that should make it much easier to explain, use, and allow it to be used for huge million - billion+ line projects.

Scroll 1 does not meet that goal, but Scroll 2 will. Looks the same, but under the hood has some really interesting designs related to topological sorting, causality, and logic that I think will be highly useful and relevant for science and all that want to built trustworthy information.

My vision, which I think now more than ever is possible, has been to "build a language for scientists of all ages". I've meant that in both the sense of "a language so easy kids can use it" to "a language so compelling Planck and Einstein and Feynman would have used it".

I introduce 2 new terms for medical conditions diagnosable with a microscope: Hypermito: abnormally high mitochondria levels Hypomito: abnormally low mitochondria levels In the process of building image database to define baselines. Collaborators welcome!

All big software companies: 1) Unethical "IP" laws possibilize monopoly profits. 2) Monopoly profits possibilize talent monopolies. 3) Talent monopolies possibilize leading products. 4) Leading products possibilize reputation laundering.

I'm going to setup my own home lab for imaging mitochondria. I'm going to do it as cheaply and reproducibly as possible so anyone can copy the setup. The goal is to create the world's largest public domain database of mitochondria images. Follow me if interested!
