Whenever I hear Barack or Michelle speak, their eloquence and love of country come through, but what’s also apparent is that they’re just normal human beings—something you could never say about that pair of sleazy, tone-deaf grifters occupying the White House now. I really miss normal.

To everyone who helped bring the Obama Presidential Center to life, thank you. Michelle and I are so grateful for all your dedication and hard work over the years. I got a little teary-eyed tonight thinking about my mother-in-law, Marian Robinson.

It is very funny to hear objective reporters say having a ufc fight at the WH contradicts the idea that he is an old man who falls asleep in public. Did he fight? Does watching a fight require any particular vigor? What are we doing here

Even before nomination, Rs were under siege for their handling of the Epstein. But Blanche nomination = a gratuitous slam at Epstein victims, puts the issue back in the news, and forces Rs (many past primary season) to decide: Save themseleves or promote Blanche? open.substack.com/pub/contrari...

My case for why more NY-12 Dems should consider an ex-GOP high-profile lawyer aiming to remove Trump and prevent future wannabe kings. What good is any policy success, by any Congress or president, if the next president can unilaterally, illegally, blow it all up? open.substack.com/pub/historyk...

Senate Republicans who vote to confirm Todd Blanche for attorney general should take heed: They will be haunted for the rest of their careers (some of which may very well end with the midterms) by the courageous survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s monstrous crimes. open.substack.com/pub/contrari...

Attorney General Pam Bondi has the power to hold the men in the Epstein files accountable.  But she’s doing the opposite. She’s protecting them.

I knew from a young age that I didn't have a lot of opportunities - that's why I joined the Marine Corps. And after 3 tours in Iraq, I know running for office isn't going to kill me. Our democracy is being torn down in front of our eyes. We can’t afford to settle for the status quo!

"A system that brutalized, raped, and killed human beings while stealing their freedom and humanity is rotten to its core. That enslaved people were able to find resilience and build lives is a testament to their courage and spirit. There is no “other side” to the story of slavery." Dan Rather
