My #kidlit hot take: Get your hopes up! Yes, publishing is full of rejection. I get why people say ”I’m not getting my hopes up” about a request for more work, an R&R, etc. But to protect ourselves from disappointment, we deprive ourselves of excitement and joy. And without that, what’s the point?
