We stand with the Rose City Riveters and our Transgender and LGBTQ+ community. We see you; We support you; We protect our own; This is bigger than the pitch. Hate has no place in our sections, especially hateful messages about gender and identity. If you come for one, you can expect us all.

Also, Alba tries to push her off THREE TIMES wdym "accidental"

Everyone is (rightly) talking about the "accidental" step, but I'm can't get over a ref with a clear view of two kicks to the ankle deciding that was "careless" and not a blatant yellow . . .

Ref Matthew Corrigan on the Caño/Hocking situation: "The challenge was committed in a careless manner and did not rise to the level of a caution. The step onto the hair was deemed accidental."

no, let them come. let them suffer. let their weekends be ruined before 8am ET. let them struggle to conceal uncut rage or pure elation in midweek meetings. let them hand 25-year-olds from countries they've never been to a concerning amount of control over their mood for the day. it is the only way.

THREE extremely unethical situations at the World Cup require more football stakeholders to challenge wrongs. 1. Banishment of the Somali referee 2. Balogun red card political interference 3. Treatment of Iran team Players/managers/officials/administrators. Pressure on FIFA should be unrelenting.

i’ve never experienced a collective enthusiasm and fun like this month of the world cup. just consistently blown away how universal the enjoyment is and how deep people are plunging down the rabbit hole. doesn’t matter who i’m with or where i am everyone’s locked in and it rules

I don’t think Belgium have been very good and I don’t think it’s impossible the US could’ve beaten them without Balogun. Now, if the US do progress, the corruption of allowing balogun to play will overshadow the result in many corners of the football world. And that’s unfair to the rest of the team

Holy shit Telemundo just had a climate scientist do a spot-on piece about extreme heat and fossil-fuel-driven climate change DURING THE PAUSA DE HIDRATACIÓN. God I love this network!

Today, we reaffirm our support for transgender athletes and transgender members of our community. Sports unite us and should always be a place of belonging. We reject efforts that invite greater scrutiny of athletes’ bodies, identities, and private medical information.

Reason number 1,467 that the Telemundo coverage is where it's at. The announcers know ball and respond accordingly when someone does something outrageous like this.

Ok since he is being mentioned so many times just looked up Alexi Lalas... Was he a decorated footballer? No. But does he have what we say, a football analytical brain? No. But is he a good presenter? No. But ultimately it all comes down to this, is he a likable guy? Also No.

I started supporting Arsenal while a student at Bowdoin on the recommendation of Africana Studies prof Femi Vaughan. He said they played the purest form of football. I watched games in that same Baxter House common area Zohran references here. It's been a hard road, but we're champions now.
