Make stuff. Do your hobbies. Geek out with your weird friends. Practice arts and crafts. Every society that ever burned to the ground left behind only the handicrafts, and every society saved from the brink was saved only by arts. Do not give up the joy of creating.

This is Mendel, a photo taken through my side door, where he waits for breakfast. I can’t approach him — but sometimes he will come nearish to me.🐈‍⬛

Mendel approached witching three feet of me at feeding time today! 🐈‍⬛ Feral fella.

It’s a creek and corridor called Euclid Creek Reservation. Urban, believe it or not, on the hills separating north and south Euclid, near Cleveland. Brilliant upkeep by Cleveland Metroparks and widely used. www.clevelandmetroparks.com/parks/visit/...

ive talked on how i wont engage with writers who use ai, i wont eat at a restaurant with an ai menu, i wont have anything to do with it. but what this post illustrates is regardless of how OTHERS react, ultimately the worst part about using ai is that you are punishing YOURSELF and dont even know it

You saw that, too? The dog thing reminded me of the Army’s attempts to teach dolphins to carry weapons, which (I think IIRC) prompted Jacques Cousteau to say, “No sooner does man discover intelligence than he tries to involve it in his own stupidity.”

I’m growing my hair out as I once did. And it’s taking forever and looks like hell so from now on it’s ponytail or wig because otherwise I’ll break and go back to the pixie. Must. Resist. Because. Want. Bog. Witch. Hair.

Why in EVERLASTING FUCK is my timeline all death heat rays approved by the pentagon and bio-engineered war dogs using extinct DNA? Growing up I thought we would all blow each other up with nukes but no, we went death by a thousand cuts apparently.

If it’s true that we all in some sense engineer our own demise, well in this case I’m really pulling for a literal realization of that principle.

It sounds like hyperbole to suggest the current administration WANTS measles to become common again but I can’t think of much they’d be doing differently if they didn’t want that. (I think some of them really are eugenicists who legit prefer disease spread to prevention; others just don’t care)

David Ho@davidho.bsky.social

The CDC denied a request from California, Hawaiʻi, Oregon, and Washington to validate a high-volume measles test, citing “other priorities.” 🤨

"This was not a one-time lapse. In a podcast, Lance almost gleefully describes how he lied and manipulated his way into making Some Kind of Heaven, his first feature. He admits lying to Darren Aronofsky to secure his backing... He admits lying to investors about what the film was really about"

"he violated our central agreement. The film is filled with private moments of our most vulnerable clients, people who never agreed to have their lives exposed that way. Lance almost certainly knew that if we’d seen what he’d done, we would have done everything in our power to stop it."

I will be 49 in 2 days, and there is something I want very much. My life lacks a core of wise women. A coven, a tribe, a gathering of knowing elders who have seen some shit. Women who get the mystical union of the universe and who eschew patriarchal BS. Forest witches. Union leaders. Medicine women.
