Just a reminder that patriotism isn't holding a bible and wrapping yourself in the flag while you violate the Constitution and plunder the country. Happy 4th of July, stay cool and safe!!

Earlier this month, the federal government moved the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services out of the purview of the Department of Education. Minnesota-based PACER Center said the move will have a negative impact on families.

Congrats DR Congo! They had to quarantine in Belgium before the World Cup due to the devastating Ebola outbreak, yet still made it to the knockout stage for the first time in history!

Today, I introduced legislation to require that the minimum wage be a living wage. $25 an hour is what’s required for a full time worker to pay their bills, and we shouldn’t accept that full time work leaves people living in poverty.

The problem we encounter is not only the racist claim that Black “history is not substantial enough to remember & to call human history,” but that what has been called civilization, patriotism, & progress requires its denigration & ultimate annihilation.

Stephen Miller was reportedly the driving force behind the DOJ's recent memo authorizing states to institutionalize people with disabilities rather than fund community-based care

If Congress doesn't act now, Social Security benefits could be cut by more than 20 percent after 2032. Senator Bernie Moreno and I have a bipartisan solution: lift the Social Security payroll tax cap. We need to save Social Security for the next generation. Let's get this done.

24 detainees were loaded onto today's ICE Air flight at MSP, which we're recording and sharing as usual, despite the DOJ's attempt at intimidating fellow Minnesotans with frivolous charges. We're still here. We're still watching. Fuck ICE. 🧵👇

June 11, 1963 should be up there with Dec 7, 1941 in popular memory as 1 of the key dates in 20th century U.S. history because of 3 major events: George Wallace’s “stand in the schoolhouse door”; JFK’s civil rights address to the nation; &, shortly after midnight, the assassination of Medgar Evers.

It's not enough to condemn the mistreatment of migrants or violence against them. Democrats in the US and Labour in the UK need to embrace immigration as welcome and necessary. Change the narrative.

Last thing before I log off: I see everyone screaming about a pedophile in the White House. That's abhorrent. But adult women matter, too. E. Jean Carroll matters as much as Epstein's victims did. If the only time you care about violence against women is when children are involved, that's bad.

Instead of trying to eliminate birthright citizenship guaranteed in the Constitution, we should pass a constitutional amendment prohibiting felons from serving as president

yes. change the statute on which this decision turned and redistrict according to the legitimacy conferred by the people of the state

Murshed Zaheed@murshedz.bsky.social

Virginia Gov @abigailspanberger.com and Democratic legislature should pass immediate legislation to redistrict anyway. If the old confederate states can do it post Callais - so can Dems in Virginia if they care about saving our democracy.

Yahya & his family of 11 were displaced from their home in Beit Hanoun & are now sheltering in Mawasi. Since September, they've been forced to find safety more than a dozen times. Today, WCK meals are their main source of food—a source of comfort & stability when so much is uncertain. #ChefsForGaza
