California’s Proposition 4 would let the state enact public campaign financing programs, giving candidates the chance to run competitive campaigns without depending on large donors. bit.ly/47fVe9M

Public campaign financing keeps candidates accountable to the PEOPLE instead of to their big donors sponsoring their cash flow. And California is the ONLY state that bans it. πŸ“£ Keep your friends and family informed by sharing ➑️ CourageVoterGuide.org and voting YES on Prop. 4 βœ… this November 3rd.

What is #prop4 on the California ballot, and why does it matter πŸ€”? The current playing field for political candidates looks like this: β¬†οΈπŸ’°Big money = higher chance to win β¬‡οΈπŸ’°Not so much money = not likely to win.

In 1988, California banned public financing of elections β€” one of the best methods to counter the power of Big Money. Voters can restore it this November by voting YES on Prop 4. Watch.

VOTE "YES" ON PROP 4! This does one simple thing - it lifts the ban on publicly funded campaigns. California is the ONLY state that has this ban! Prop 4 does not institute any system - it merely allows citizens to go this route - if they CHOOSE! #cafairelections #yesonprop4

It is very clear our voting rights and the mechnisms for counting our votes are under attack from many directions. The open-soure, paper-ballot voting system is one way for us to counter attack. Kudos to Clean Money and Trent Lange for getting out front on this action!

This is by far one of the most important processes that needs to be implemented to save our Democracy, especially when so many #oligarch maniac's are looking to use AI to destroy our right to vote.

My @calmatters.org piece: Scandals (Smartmatic bribery + Dominion rebrand as Liberty Vote) show proprietary corporate-controlled voting systems are failing trust. CA can lead by easing certification of transparent open-source paper ballot systems. Full op-ed: calmatters.org/commentary/2...

Voters deserve election technology that’s transparent & accountable β€” not secret software controlled by multinational voting machine corporations. Our @calmatters.org op‑ed explains why California must make it easier to certify open‑source, paper‑ballot voting systems as an alternative. 🧡

Public financing of elections is an essential part of the solution to this autocratic moment. Grateful to Governor Newsom for doing the right thing and signing #SB42

Governor Gavin Newsom@governor.ca.gov

Today, I'm signing legislationΒ to safeguard our elections and the voice of every voter. It's now illegal to use contests or payments to get people to register to vote. And in the 2026 election, voters have the chance to repeal our state's ban on the public financing of elections.
