There is just a segment of the American population, both male and female, that cannot abide the idea of a woman, a woman in a dress, a woman period, being the most powerful person in the Nation.

It is such a tragedy that 10 million voters voted for Kamala Harris but their votes weren't counted. I feel those who did not fight against voter suppression chose this for America. See @gregpalast.bsky.social's documentary. youtu.be/P_XdtAQXnGE?...

Don’t blame me, I voted for her to be our President and instead many gave an evil morally bankrupt piece of shit dictator wannabe fraudster felon with a fragile ego full power over our country. It used to break my heart, but now it makes me so fucking angry.

Newman told The Bulwark, "People are becoming more emboldened to cross Trump as his power wanes. The shared goal of the corporate overlords and ICE is to make people feel powerless, and these actions are a way of resisting that sense of powerlessness."

Carrasquillo reports, "There's also speculation that AT&T data could have been used by DHS to target people during the shocking raid at the 7500 South Shore Drive residential building raid in Chicago."

Carrasquillo adds, "But that's not the end of their troubles: Bold and unpredictable protests are beginning to disrupt retail operations across the country…. For months now, Home Depot has been singled out for its role as a staging ground in the Trump deportation regime."

Every day I wake up and I hear the silence of the Republicans. Their silence is overwhelming. Never forget those Republicans who are doing this & letting this happen. This could we ended tomorrow if the Republicans had had one vertebrae in their spines.

Happening in America. Representatives can't access those who have been detained. No one can track where kidnapped kids or folks are being held. The video records of these camps are being erased. See how they treat American politicians, asking questions, what are they doing to these poor people?

"Home Depot is possibly the most visible case after the company’s parking lots became a familiar setting for shocking viral clips and local news segments depicting federal agents' aggressive attempts to apprehend unsuspecting day laborers.

"Companies that have collaborated with immigration enforcement agencies in various ways to aid Trump's mass deportation initiative — whether through allowing ICE to raid their parking lots ... or a variety of other actions — are starting to feel the rumblings of a consumer revolt...

Oh my heart! Me too, Maureen! SUCH joy! Whoever knits and makes these darling videos with all of the miniatures and sets is AMAZING! I had ALL of the Frog and Toad books growing up and bought my kids a set, as well! My hubby has a cute Frog & Toad t-shirt! We refer to "the List" regularly!🤭

Alice Miller writes about the parenting that led to the complicity of the majority of Germans. There were no protests. There wasn't resistance. That is why it is important to act now.

The world’s second biggest polluter, the US, was near the bottom, but 74% of its citizens still said its government should do more, while 48% were willing to contribute. New Zealand, Norway and Russia were also relatively low-scoring.

It wasn't Hitler or Himmler who kidnapped me, beat me, & shot my family. It was the shoemaker, the milkman, and the neighbor who were given uniforms & then believed they were the master race." Karl Stojka, Auschwitz survivor 😭😭😭

160 years ago, the 13th Amendment was ratified, ending slavery. But that amendment came with a sinister loophole: a Slavery Clause that allowed for slavery “as punishment for crime.” We need to pass @repnikema.bsky.social’s and my Abolition Amendment to #EndTheException once and for all!

Side note: The NCNW produced three more cookbooks in the 1990s: The Black Family Reunion Cookbook, The Black Family Dinner Quilt Cookbook and Celebrating Our Mothers’ Kitchens. They preserve African American culinary traditions and celebrate the strength and values of Black families.

NCNW programs prioritize four critical issues: education, with a special focus on STEM and early childhood literacy; educating women about health issues; encouraging entrepreneurship, financial literacy and job training; and advocating for sound public policy, voting rights and social change. /end

The NCNW established its national headquarters in Washington, D.C. in 1942. In 1990, it moved to the Dorothy I. Height Building, which is situated between the White House and the U.S. Capitol. The former headquarters, the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House, is now a National Historic Site. /5

Dr. Dorothy Height served as NCNW’s president from 1957 to 1997 and expanded the scope of its mission. Under her leadership, NCNW played a significant role in the Civil Rights Movement, raising funds for the Montgomery bus boycott and developing programs to fight poverty in the rural South. /4

An early project of the NCNW was to assemble a cookbook that captured African American culture and furthered the cause of integration. The result was the Historical Cookbook of the American Negro (1958), which amplified heritage recipes with historical context to uplift Black women and families. /3

Bethune established the NCNW to unite Black women’s groups and address Black women’s concerns that were often ignored. In the midst of the Great Depression, NCNW aimed to tackle issues such as the inequality, housing discrimination and healthcare disparities that African American women faced. /2

And the Republicans could end this today if they wanted to, if the had the guts to stand up for what is right.

You are deep in the journey & doing the work. Thank you for helping me try to be a better person. I have been stacked, attacked, harassed & beaten for being who I am. Some days I do graciousness & kindness better. Others, I am angry what is happening to us.

I'm English. I once picked up a stone; it represented, to me, all of the pain we had inflicted on the world. It's almost impossible to convey how deep that pain was and how, some 20 years later it still feels.
