My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Ukraine was winning the war, so Trump kneecapped Ukraine to help Russia. I wish it weren’t that simple, but it is. Our president is in bed with our enemies.

First task for the new Sonnar 13.5/4 CZJ: journey on the trams of Milan. Rollei IR400 inside. With or without the finder turret (13.5 frame is roughly the double of RF area, so I can guesstimate)

Nobody knew the name of the photographer, I was just a schoolboy, but looking at the pages of "Epoca" I was already understanding where to stand. Unfortunately, history did not end in '89, just took a break.

Your regular reminder: If the Russians stop fighting, the war ends. If the Ukrainians stop fighting, their land will be occupied, their leaders will be killed, their history and language will be erased, their children will be kidnapped to serve Russia.

walking around Milan with a friend, we had to compare the sounds of our noisy beasts, but I cheated: he had his Pentax 67 🧨... and instead of P6, I had the Rollei 35😁 🎞️

Help! Parton Community Council has 60 days to raise £70k to buy Parton Kirk (resting place of James Clerk Maxwell). They plan to turn it into a visitor centre celebrating our great hero! The other buyers could turn it into long-term storage 😬 Even £5 would help 🙏🧪⚛️ www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding...

Trivial technicalities. P6 Sonnar 180/2.8 is (even more) a legend when adapted to 24x36. I used it on Contax 139 but only preset, whereas the archaic Exakta mount allows auto mode. I feel FAR better with Exa than with Exakta, but the latter can hold the adapter for long lenses and the former not ->

-> (here I held the two things with both hands) and 1/150s time of Exa can be limiting. The obviuos thing could be to exchange the mounts (just 4 screws!) or even obtaine a spare mount from another dead body. [I realize that the world is full of real bad problems, but it's the n-th hot Sunday...]

to be #halfframe / #halbformat today I have not chosen my faithful friend Canon Demi S, but the last still working of my three Pen F. The Medical. For those who know: if you have a good eyesight and short lenses, using it is less painful that having sand into your swimming suite... ->
