Since our initial post we've now learned the man's name is James Rupert William Phillips, may he rest in peace. More info on the biking conditions in the reopened area are on the Seattle Bike Blog: www.seattlebikeblog.com?utm_source=i...

Our hearts are with the friends and family of the man killed while biking in South Bellevue last Thursday. Bellevue Way SE needs safety upgrades to turn it from a highway off-ramp into an actual city street, with slower speeds and a safer corridor for everyone walking, biking, and rolling.

Our hearts are with the friends and family of the man killed while biking in South Bellevue last Thursday. Bellevue Way SE needs safety upgrades to turn it from a highway off-ramp into an actual city street, with slower speeds and a safer corridor for everyone walking, biking, and rolling.

Thanks to Aurora Reimagined Coalition for leading today's policy walk to advocate for the short and long term changes needed to improve this corridor so people can safely walk, bike, and access transit. Aurora Ave has been a loud, fast highway for too long!

We appreciate Seattle City Council's continued focus on traffic safety. The proposed Traffic Safety Ordinance represents an effort to advance Vision Zero. We look forward to seeing how this framework is implemented and are committed to supporting the city's work. Safer streets benefit everyone.

We all deserve to get to where we're going safely. After over a decade working towards Vision Zero in Seattle, it's clear we need to do more. Thank you Mayor Wilson, in signing today's executive order, for committing to taking urgent action for all who bike, walk, and roll on Seattle's streets.

Looking for last minute plans tonight? Come to Old Stove in Ballard for bike trivia with us and Ballard Fremont Green Streets -- catch the Mexico-Ecuador game while you're at it!

We're heartbroken by the loss of a cyclist on Beacon Ave. This tragedy is a devastating reminder that safe street design must be paired w/ driver accountability, safer speeds, & leaders' urgent action to prevent traffic violence. Our hearts are w/ the rider’s loved ones & the Beacon community.

The results are in and the King County Parks Levy campaign is passing with over 70% support! Thank you for voting to support a trails network that is maintained, expanded, and improved over the next six years.

King County Voters! Yes for King County Prop 1 is a YES vote for filling gaps in the King County regional trails network. Renewing the 6 yr parks levy will generate $182 million for trails like Eastrail, Interurban South, Green River, and Lake to Sound trail.
