Cat Blackard 🌈🌴💗✨

I’m Cat - a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller known for illustration/design, media journalism, & writing, directing, and voice acting in audio fiction. Why so many things? I’m a queer, trans, enby, neurospicy being! I can’t be just one thing! I contain multitudes! Examples in the replies! 1/6

The realest thing you'll see all day.

what is the earliest console game that lets you pick non-binary and please tell me it's not fucking austin powers for game boy color of all things

If you're in the UK I beseech you to sign and share this letter. 💛💜 💛 The plight of intersex people often begins at birth: surgeries forced on them, parents lied to - a lifetime of confusion as there's little to no accountability for people's bodies being irreparably changed without their consent.

good morning exclusively to the lesbian cabby from watchmen

It must be said, @dreamstobecome.bsky.social as Felicia Silver is SO GOOD. Absolute fire. I love how she plays off of these knuckleheads and this completely NIGHTMARISH scenario. She lends so much gravity and comedy to every scene she's in.

I am co-signing this 1000-million%. As I read the book, my wife I cackled together, I sent photos of bits to friends... Meanwhile all the painfully real and deeply vulnerable material wrung me out🥲. Please laugh, cry, and psychically hug (with permission) this sweet bird-horsey angel 😭♥️

When you have a good idea🤯, but you 🥬😜Biddy Blaze😮‍💨 so hard, you forget to skrib doon. 🙃🫣

Please enjoy the anime logo I designed. (Big thanks to @lonechallenger.bsky.social for the translation assist).

Every time I say “no ethical consumption of Harry Potter” I hear “oh, it’s fine so long as I don’t give her money” No it isn’t. There is NO ethical consumption of Harry Potter. None. Don’t participate. Don’t raise your kids on it. Tell them why if they ask!

The linked interview with her is great. There's a really funny transition / M.U.L.E. anecdote towards the end.

i REALLY need you to start getting it

I've had the singular joy of getting to hear some of Kitty's dialogue recorded by Cat while we've been working on the book, and the audio version of this story it is going to absolutely destroy people (complimentary)! You think you have a crush on Verge? Just wait till you hear her as Kitty!

this is why @rofish.bsky.social had to force people to log in to see the Starmen forums – attendance was on the decline because its an ancient forum, and now its REALLY declining because its annoying to access. this sucks!

The monolithic author is a sham of an idea. Anyone who chooses AI over collaboration in creative mediums is likely flagging that they're a deeply unpleasant person at minimum.

Legitimately what my closest female friendships look like 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩

I NEED A MIRACLE season 2 is crowdfunding now. I beseech you, grant me £2,400 to pay these and other excellent writers to write a new season, yet more tumultuous and miraculous than the last. crowdfunder.co.uk/p/miracle

SURPRISE! @marcwithac.bsky.social's latest season of Discography isn't done! This week and next, we get the history of the Meat Puppets direct from founding Puppet, Derrick Bostrom! Listen here and everywhere yo pod your casts: shows.acast.com/discography/...

If you love 8-Bit Theater or Atomic Robo, stop what you're doing and toss a couple bucks Brian Clevinger's way. It's hard out there for indie artists. It's expensive to be responsible with your health. The system won't take care of us, so we've got to take care of each other. 💗

I wanna be all up Enya.

I'll be out of town and indisposed but YOU should get on board with this delightful, super-talented, and cute as a button lady.

IT'S HAPPENING! From the ashes of real and fictional losses, the story @dougbanks.bsky.social, the cast, and I began years ago can finally conclude. This show and our work with the GB RPG has meant a lot to a lot of people and I'm so excited to finally share its epic conclusion. bit.ly/4y9psaj 🎃

Happy birthday to David Wojnarowicz, groundbreaking artist, writer & activist, who raged raged raged against inequity and injustice at every turn. If he hadn’t died of AIDS, like so many leading lights of his generation, he would have been 72 years old today (thread)

I would hang this comic panel over my mantle. From @cashbrowns.bsky.social's delightful Adventure Time Bubbline College Special.

If you live in the US then I NEED and BESEECH you to take action on this. It just takes an easy to send online form letter and you can help spare irreversible destruction with lasting and far-sweeping consequences. Use the link below or this one: greateryellowstone.org/take-action/...

the way this is my biggest legacy but most people don't know it was me who made it

"Cathy" is the "Doug" of middle-aged women.

It's #FictionPodcastFriday! Check out The Bird Roads, a new series by the @camlannpod.bsky.social team. A tale of being separated from your partners & the hope that you'll find each other again, somehow. Releasing on podcast players now or pre-order here: tincanaudio.bandcamp.com/album/the-bi...

Good morning💕 Just a friendly reminder that the only people mutilating children with gender surgeries in the US are the doctors and parents who "fix" intersex kids and needlessly circumcise infants. ✂️🍆 Tell a cis bigot you're sorry their dick was mutilated today! Okay byyyye 👋💕💕

Blatant facts on display.

So... The answer is obviously that heartfelt bohemian artist types should make a guerrilla bootleg Muppets movie a la The People's Joker, so that The Muppets can return to being heartfelt bohemian artist types, right...?

Introduce yourself with a small song moment you like. Hi, I'm Cat Blackard; artist/writer, sapphic feline muppet love goddess. The opening notes of Robert Palmer's "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" where it sounds like he stumbled into a synth, like "oops!" yet unimpeachably sophisticated and cool. 💋

Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

This is the government of Canada’s scientific finding. It is true. It is also a terrible message. Here’s what’s also true: 🧵 www.ctvnews.ca/climate-and-...

Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old? (This was almost a real challenge, but my other two top tier favorites from this year came out just before I turned 20.)
