This is possibly the most dwarf fortress thing of all, but I've doomed my fortress *in the tutorial*. Turns out "CANCEL MINING" is locked behind an arbitrary stage of tutorial completion 😂
Slay the Spire 2's concurrent Steam players just hit 179,456, the highest ever for any roguelike.
When StS1 first launched back in 2017, it had 193 concurrent players.
That's a 92,982% increase, meaning StS3 is on track to hit 166,861,777 concurrent players by 2035. 💪
ok but what if there was like a service where friends could subscribe (not monetarily, the other meaning) to your channels that just broadcast curated videos and current timestamps.
The coolest usb device I have is actually this charging cable that has a connector that fits *either direction*. Probably not allowed by USB spec but it's a lifechanger!
Replicat has officially launched on #Steam!
Making this game has been a true labor of love. Hope you all enjoy flipping cards and collecting those meow-tastic combos. Thanks so much for supporting me and the project. Now, go get them high scores!

Another year, another Epic Megajam completed - it's tough to put a game together in just a week, but I'm pleased with the weird little thing our team managed to scrape together.
You can give it a play and leave comments here!

Also in exciting news: I've published my little blueprint exceptions plugin on the Fab store. It lets you raise blueprint exceptions from Blueprints and CPP using Assert and Verify behaviors. With support for auto-breakpointing on errors and custom diagnostic messages

SUSHI BEN IS OUT NOW! 🎉🎉🎉
I've been working on this since 2016 yay!
My team has been working on this since 2021 yay!
Plz try it out, its cheaper than toro nigiri tysm im so sleepy going to bed now.
Neat to see Eastshade get a mention in the Vantage rulebook (along with many other favorites that just reinforce that this is My Kind of Boardgame)! @dannyweinbaum.bsky.social
Ruptured an eardrum this weekend and the wildest thing isn't that I hear less, it's the noise floor on that ear has raised drastically. So I end up having to concentrate more to pick out sounds. As someone with ADHD already, those facilities don't need taxed any more than they already are 😬
Incredibly frustrating thing about not being able to find work is this general feeling pressure pushing me out of my vocation and the voice in my mind saying "you're just a hobbyist if you can't find work in a professional capacity again". Each year I'm unemployed the pressure increases.
So like maybe some day I can get paid to talk to the computer some more. If you wanna hire me, I do gamedev with Unreal or Godot or just plain ol programming with C++ and Python. I also love learning new things, on the side I'm currently reverse engineering the heck out of Tetris with Ghidra
It's kind of refreshing because this is the first side project I've had that I can't directly try to monetize so my brain just has to accept that it's for funsies. Blocks go beep boop, decompiler vomits oodles of if-else spaghetti that I get to detangle. It's the perfect detective game.
I absolutely cannot understate how exactly reverse engineering hits the same neurons as Blue Prince and Obra Dinn and detective puzzle games in general
Over the years I've slid from:
* I want to do software engineering on an impactful product
* I want to do software engineering at an impactful org
* I want to get paid to do software engineering
* I want to do software engineering
I've been holding onto hope for a few years now... But between my inability to find a job locally and tech/gaming's spasms of RTO and layoffs, I think my programming career is dead :|
I'd love to relocate, but it doesn't make sense without the kind of relocation compensation companies aren't willing to provide (: (on top of uncertainties about unending layoffs)
How did Atomfall slip under my radar? It's about the perfect size game for me with some great difficulty adjustments (although even on the easiest mode, it's easy to die if you let things get out of hand...)
