dragons dogma is so comfy.. playing 2 now with the amazing performance updates and dlc really does finally feel like a fully realized vision. love to walk around and pick herbs while a tiny man tells me about wolves

Been playing this nonstop all morning. sealed fortress is a rare breath of fresh air after drowning in a sea of modern "50/50 choice for progress or dead end with a treasure chest at the end of it" dungeon design. Please buy it if you enjoy little guys, ears, equipping tomes, casting magicks + etc

figured out something about ace combat 3 that made no sense to me since people had conflicting reports- in the the original JP game you can't pitch and roll at the same time, but in the US re-release you can. which is problematic because the US version took out the story so I can't use that ISO, lol

I thought it must have been an emulation error or something because no one was talking about how insane this is but running both on mister with a playstation controller directly through SNAC and trying with both analog off and on resulted in the same behavior. kind of wild!

i got it. i think what i have to do is pretend i'm playing an old fromsoft game and flying a plane in king's field and i'll trick myself into liking it and writing shit about the "intentionality of the controls as a point of player friction" and other nonsense like i usually do for bad games

also makes me want to try playing Electrosphere again even though ive tried 10 times before and always quit 20 minutes in because controlling the aeroplane in that game is fucking dogshit and not fun at all. have i learned my lesson or am i doomed to always repeat history? find out soon

beat ace combat 8. they should really, really stop trying to make ace combat a Cutscenes Game but thankfully that stuff is all completely perfunctory so it doesn't affect my view of the game. mission design is killer front to back and never lets off the gas even though it's longer than any other AC
