Worrell and Culpepper are doing such an insane disservice to their constituents by positioning a T extension as an alternative to upgraded bus infrastructure. At least be honest about how much money it'll cost, how much time it'll take, and how public transit riders will suffer in the meantime.

We appreciate the new speed humps on two of our dangerous streets in Allston Brighton and look forward to more safety measures in the neighborhood. We should all be able to get around safely. Thank you and keep it up, @streets.boston.gov and @mayorwu.boston.gov !

I'm loving our new speed humps on Parsons St and Glenville Ave in Allston Brighton. These make all of us safer! Thank you @streets.boston.gov and @mayorwu.boston.gov

Disappointed to read that @mayorwu.boston.gov's admin is giving up on making Boston an attractive and affordable place to live. Boston is supposed to be the "City on a Hill", an example of the best in people and policy. A majority of research... 1/3 www.bostonglobe.com/2026/09/08/b...

Replying to @mattjlawlor.bsky.social

Ok. Here goes: 1/20 (I think) - For context it’s important to me to remember that safer streets were integral to @wutrain.bsky.social and her council tenure and I was there through all of it. It was one of her defining policy through lines, including a series of hearings that exposed how shallow…

"don’t pretend that seven years of studies, engineering, and community engagement never happened." "the administration’s instinct is to procrastinate and hold more meetings" "cities learn by doing, not by endlessly studying"

Awful and sad and infuriating to lose a great advocate this way. She did so much for Boston and it's a shame Boston couldn't do more for her

When you're left-wing and want to exclude people, you call the people you dislike "transplants." When you're right-wing and want to exclude people, you call the people you dislike "illegals." They both want the same outcome The better solution: build more homes for everyone.

No tweaks to any Allston-Brighton routes - I've been happy with the changes so far, but I'd love to see the 86 be made frequent one day

Everyone needs to check out the new public space here! Lots of great little spots for gathering and exploring, and more shops and restaurants coming soon. Another big step forward for Western Ave!

AB Housing Action held a pizza picnic on the new Allstonway at the ERC last evening. Fantastic new public plaza with 345 units of new housing + lots of bunnies! The cafes, hotel, lab buildings and Harvard conference center have ground floors open to the community to linger, work, read, and relax.

I would be so annoyed and embarrassed if my city councilor put forward a plan with an AI generated map like this in any official capacity

Maybe the most obvious bad faith proposal of all time Just support the bus lane! A train is gonna take 20 years, give your constituents some tangible benefits in the meantime

The Boston Globe@bostonglobe.com

As they fight the plan for a controversial center-running bus lane along Blue Hill Avenue, two Boston city councilors proposed an alternative: extending the Orange Line subway beneath the street for what they said would be superior rail service.

Boston needs the courage to take similar big swings - congestion pricing, pedestrianizing roads, closing Storrow Drive, etc

StreetsblogMASS@mass.streetsblog.org

These polling results are also similar to statewide polls in New York in 2024 and early 2025. Voters didn't like congestion pricing until they'd experienced the benefits of congestion pricing. The NYC toll is now considered an unvarnished success nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/01/05/h...

I miss this @mayorwu.boston.gov "when cities move to a very small charge, residents start to think differently about what to do with their vehicles. Any steps to get closer to the actual impact of circling and congestion and pollution start to affect how people think about their parking choices."

Happy to have Open Newbury back but bummed that there's been yet another big cutback for the program this year. When will @mayorwu.boston.gov and @streets.boston.gov realize that this is an incredibly popular program that should be growing every year?

@mayorwu.boston.gov said it best: “Every year, Newbury Street comes alive as neighbors, shoppers, and visitors enjoy one of our most iconic streets.” This year, Open Newbury will run from 10 a.m until 6 p.m on ten Sundays, beginning on July 12. Visit boston.gov/open-newbury for more info!

At the city council hearing on eliminating parking minimums! Ed Flynn got hard cut off after two minutes of his opening statement, Sharon Durkan is running a tight ship

Some great virtual testimony from Professor Sara Bronin, who argued that the amendment should go even further and eliminate parking minimums for commercial uses

Councilors Flynn and Fitzgerald are both steaming mad in the hearing chamber. Fitzgerald made some pretty gross and unnecessary comments to a young panelist, which Durkan thankfully called him out on

We're being lapped by Houston on this for some reason Come on @mayorwu.boston.gov, do something
