On this day, in honor of our underrepresented intersex community, consider donating to, following or simply learning more about intersex experiences at @interact.bsky.social
This WA measure No.IL26-638, if passed will require all girls who want to play sports to have their biological sex verified if they want to play school sports via a genital exam, DNA testing to identity chromosomes, or get natural testosterone levels check. @rangemedia.co @merrywanderer.bsky.social
The measure is also written in a way that does not address the complexity of "biological sex." What about young intersex students -- those who have chromosomes, hormone levels, internal reproductive organs or external genitals with features that are not typically male or female? bit.ly/4zJ6Eih
@pregnancyjust.bsky.socia published a report that reveals 902 criminal cases across the country have been opened related to one's pregnancy, pregnancy loss, or birth in the first three years after Roe fell. @thenation.com @amylittlefield.bsky.social @danasuss.bsky.social bit.ly/4dUGot4
Imagine having a social platform that is so unpopular you have to pay people to engage with it. Well that's Meta with their FB Content Monetization program. This new invite-only program is inviting well known anti-LGBTQ discrimination activists & white supremacists. @unclosetedmedia.bsky.social
Meta also claims that misinformation and hateful conduct is "ineligible to monetize." But the company appears to be actively violating its own policies by paying anti-LGBTQ activists and white supremacists to post content. bit.ly/3U3Q0ek
Militant enforcement of the gender binary from anti-LGTBQ authorities has undermined this young student from playing the role she wanted to play in a musical, Seymour from "Little Shop of Horrors." bit.ly/4yphadu @transvestigations.bsky.social @erininthemorning.com
In case you missed it, anti-abortion advocates in TX were bragging about ordering abortion pills. Now they're getting sued under the law they advocated to pass, HB 7. HB 7 is a Texas state law that went into effect in last year that is designed to cut off Texas access to MAB bit.ly/4yqLWTy

This week we had a site visit with the @natabortionfed.bsky.social (NAF)! Thank you to the NAF Executive Director, Brittany Fonteno, for our touring our clinic and a wonderful discussion today. We are deeply appreciative of all the NAF does to support abortion providers in this country.
That’s right besties! WA ballots just dropped. Check your mail! Make sure to vote for pro-abortion candidates by November 3 at 8pm. Reminder: October 26 is the last day to register to vote or update your address online or by mail. 🗳️ bit.ly/47GAgRL?r=lp...

“PROMO’s message for Missouri is to remember that trans people aren’t an abstract concept, but real people living in the state.” What a pleasure to republish this lovely story from @evanurquhart.bsky.social & @assignedmedia.org, edited by @billiejsweeney.bsky.social, at @autonomynews.co today!
Some good news for trans youth! NYC plans to spend $9 million on local organization providing GAC to minors. Young trans people need our support more than ever. Gender-affirming care is lifesaving essential care. @giuliaheyward.bsky.social bit.ly/4s93mT5

I am a Transgender elder, and I have lived long enough to know that being down is not the same thing as being finished. I have also lived long enough to know that simply telling people we are hurting is not enough. Read the full op-ed at sgn.org

Incoming White House press secretary Katie Zacharia not only worked with an organization that wants to prosecute people who have abortions for homicide, she also claimed that abortion pills have ties to Nazi Germany. This and more in our weekly news roundup:
Happy Indigenous People's Day! We are all on native land. True reproductive justice cannot exist without Indigenous sovereignty. Support our Indigenous communities with barriers to abortion care, donate to @iwrising.org, an indigenous abortion fund. bit.ly/3VFR7RW
Happy #InternationalLesbianDay! We love and support our Lesbian community -- your pride, joy, visibility, and resistance matters every single day. Many lesbians and sapphics have been meaningful leaders throughout the reproductive freedom, reproductive justice, and LGBTQ rights movement's history. 🏳️🌈
@amyveltmania.bsky.social is coming to Seattle for one night, 10/17, and one matinee performance, 10/18, of her lauded comedy, PSA: Pelvic Service Announcement. This one-woman show about pelvic health is raw, ridiculous, educational, and it will leave you cackling. Tix here: bit.ly/4j9V4YI
Outdated "voluntary intoxication laws" are in 19 states across the US. They claim that if the person who was assaulted chose to become intoxicated, then they are capable of consenting to sex and thus sexual assault laws are not applicable. @shefali.bsky.social @19thnews.org bit.ly/4AQEhQH
Ulipristal acetate or UPA also known as 'Ella' is approved in the US as an emergency contraception. Promising trials in the UK show that it can be helpful to treat breast cancer. Other studies outside of the US have shown that Mifepristone -- bit.ly/3TMPq4r @pbsnews.org
one of the medications used in the medication abortion process -- could also be effective in preventing breast cancer. However, anti-abortion stigma & misinformation would likely prevent this lifesaving research from taking off in the US. We should be advancing this research & science to save lives.
Trans lives are beautiful and sacred. Trans people deserve to their lives free from senseless discrimination & violence. We are absolutely sick of anti-trans rhetoric and baseless attacks from ignorant politicians and activists. Remember to stand up for trans rights with your vote this election szn.
Abortion bans across our nation have endangered these people's lives, people like Tierra Walker. Tierra Walker died when she was 20 weeks pregnant due to preeclampsia. Her death was preventable with abortion care but she was denied due to state bans. bit.ly/4AH65qF @susanrinkunas.com
