It has been 170 days since @doctorswithoutborders.org published their open letter to @gilead.com calling them out on their insufficient access strategy for long-acting PrEP.

@gilead.com we are still waiting on you to: 1. reduce the price of LEN to less than $40 per person per year. 2. increase the global supply to LEN to match actual demand. 3. sell LEN directly to @doctorswithoutborders.org and other humanitarian organizations. Any day now would be great! 😮‍💨

For those not aware, lenacapavir is a new injectable form PrEP that only requires two doses per year to prevent HIV. It will save a lot of lives, but only if the people who need it can access it!

@gilead.com I’m not sure if you are aware, but it’s very difficult to end the HIV epidemic for “everyone, everywhere” when you are withholding long-acting PrEP from places where HIV is on the rise. Drop the price of #lenacapavir to $40 for all low- and middle-income countries!
