I can't wait for our forthcoming yearly willful plunge into darkness. I love when the sun goes down at four in the afternoon. It's so extremely necessary and cool.

Two of the blogs I follow are on Substack and decided to go for a "freewall" that requires you to have a Substack account and follow the target account to read their posts. Well, fuck that. A wall is still a wall no matter how short, so out of my RSS reader these blogs go. 🤷‍♀️

I wish this were longer and explored the space more. Still, it's making me want to watch Interstellar for the sixth time.

I reread something I wrote "as" an AI, internally vocalizing as an AI might read that very text to me, and I immediately fucking hated what I'd written.

I watched the three Knives Out movies recently. I generally enjoyed them, but the second one lost me toward the end. You've finally found the one one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable piece of evidence, so why the fuck is the antagonist anywhere fucking near it? He obviously wants it destroyed!

I know these stories are purposefully over the top, and I was enjoying the silly "layers" to the "onion" up until then. But having the Bad Guy so easily destroy the MacGuffin felt cheap and took me out of the experience. It's so dumb and contrived that it kinda ruined everything after that.
