I did see it again, and I think it’s a ridiculously good horror film. Closest thing we’ll probably ever get to a film version of this. talesofmytery.blogspot.com/2013/03/thom...
including choosing Udina over Anderson for human ambassador?! Now I’m even more upset
A former BioWare technical director has revealed that the cancelled Mass Effect game's story would have accounted for player decisions made in the original Commander Shepard trilogy. For more info: https://bit.ly/3WswngD
I did do this in one play through and it feels as bad as it sounds m.youtube.com/watch?v=gbXe...

the thing is, they literally do. The claim is that the Arab world *once did* great things and *no longer does,* and that second part is not true. Conveniently, they keep records of who gets those prizes, so you can see that it is not true.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

i submit that the way to respond to this is not to invoke things that happened more than a thousand years ago but to point out that this person exists and was awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_M....

First of all: thank you. This is necessary and important and good. Second: who tf is not signing on to this because I would like to have a little conversation.
The persecution of @repilhan.bsky.social just days before an election is vile and politically-motivated. I'm leading 175 House Democrats in denouncing this. When we retake power, we have to seriously look at how we can stop these abuses of power — starting with the power of the purse.
I generally agree and a good illustration is the difference between the theatrical and director’s cut of The Exorcist. It would not be regarded as a great film if the latter had been released. Counterexample: Psycho
I finally caught 'Hereditary' (2018), and it occurred to me that what separates the truly great horror films is they stick the landing. 'Night of the Living Dead,' 'Carnival of Souls,' 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre,' 'Cure' -- that last impression they leave ties everything up to that point.
This but for every goddamn post
i'm not going to do the stupid thing where i have to anticipate every perceived caveat to what i'm not saying in my 300 character post like "i think public rail is good" because frankly i'd rather the rage addicted posters looking to fight with me on subjects i agree with them about just block me

This decision marked the first time in US history that the Court upheld the criminalization of speech advocating only nonviolent, lawful ends on the ground that such speech might unintentionally assist a third party in criminal wrongdoing supreme.justia.com/cases/federa...
