And we can get work done without having to expend social energy to interact with *people* without having to suffer through fifteen minutes of mentally, spiritually, and emotionally *exhausting* conversation to get a simple question answered w/o comments or judgments on our lives and choices?

And everything we do create because of our skills, training, innate creativity, and education to be high-functioning and acceptable in society is immeditate suspected of being fake? A performance? And then we're told to "go outside and touch grass?" I did. The grass was wet and cold. Now go away.

And will tell us what we want to hear in ways that won't even pass *rudimentary critical thinking* like we're in a fucking preschool? But we can ask it to cite sources from credible places to back up whatever it's saying? And get actual work done, without asking the model to *do it for us*?

Any publisher that aims to enforce bans on generative AI in written works needs to also have equally strong methods and systems in place to handle cases of false-positives and recompensing for creatives who are struck by them. I'm saying this as someone whose work has been stolen and fed into AIs.

Granted, the "artists" I see railing about AI, I don't think they're legit. I have never seen anyone vowing violence against anyone who even knows what AI *is*. The artists I do know? The ones I follow? They're too busy making, y'know, *actual* art, instead of looking for a fight.

Critical Thinking, y'know? Everyone has it, it just needs use to keep it trim. Kinda like taking water from a well so it doesn't dry out, or taking walks even when you're piling on poundage. It's all there if you don't lose it.

On main, it's just furry artists posting porn or advertising one of their YCHs. Remember when some artists just dunked on artists who did YCHs? What's that? You don't see any of that now? Because YCHs make bank and let furry artists make rent. Not everyone has a Cali. IT guy to comm. them, y'know?

Having a cold reminds me why it's a good idea to have your Patreon scheduled for 3 weeks in advance. Another idea for a shorter piece. "Starve a Fever, Feed a Cold" has been folk wisdom for ages, so what about a Cold that doesn't go away until you've fed it enough to push your scale up by 50lbs?

I've been laying off FF14 for a few months to concentrate on writing. That's not a flex, that's realizing that writing and MMO time cannot exist in the same mental space for me. So, of course, my brain is figuring out ways to somehow bring MMORPG mechanics into my stories.

Thank the gods that in Isekai and LitRPG it's not only not out of place, it's encouraged. xD

When an artist posts something, and someone comments, "That is probably your best work ever! You used AI, right?" It's not annoying, it's the kind of insult that gets them the Fortunato treatment, as it should. It's belittling the artist to say their schooling and learning and training mean nothing.

I wrote a paper in grad school (in 2008, no AI) positing that the story is written the way it is because Montressor isn't trying to convince the *reader* that Fortunato deserved to die, but rather *himself*, and he's carrying the guilt of killing an innocent man. He was going off hearsay after all.

And when he mentions how long the bones in front of the wall closed that contains Fortunato within, and that they hadn't been disturbed for 50yrs... How does he know unless he had been checking *every night*, and the story isn't his latest trek to check? In pace requiescat, indeed.

For the artists out there "The Fortunato Treatment" is a reference to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado", where the "Protagonist" Montressor hears second or third hand that Fortunato has insulted him, so he decides to kill him, leading him into a damp dungeon with the promise of booze.
