I’m surprised you went to the funeral, sorry but I wouldn’t have. My husband’s father molested his daughter and my mother in law divorced him and none of us went to his funeral. We went out to dinner instead and celebrated.

My father sexually abused me from age 5 until age 13. I didn’t come to terms with it until I was in my late 30s. I spent years in and out of psychiatric units. My mother didn’t believe me. I cut ties with all of them. I felt great relief after their deaths.

Reports from Burlington’s ICE facility are deeply troubling. A pregnant woman banged on her cell door for help after days in pain. Another woman was denied medication. The facility was meant to hold them for hours, not days or weeks. We need an independent investigation.
