Paging @wilwheaton.net - I realize this is a long shot for actually getting a response … but what have you replaced your Cariuma’s with? I went to order some new ones and found that the site is shut down. They’ve been my favorites since you mentioned them as an alternative to converse years ago.

I recently came across @tkingfisher.com writing trying to fulfill a reading prompt for Orilium in September (Protagonist must be within 5 yrs of your age) A Sorceress Comes to Call was suggested for the prompt and I went with it. Lovely read… though I will forever be side-eyeing horses from now on.

(didn’t bother to watch the videos btw) I looked up the book and found that T. Kingfisher had penned it. At the same time I started to see folks I follow talk about the backlash being heaped on the author for a particular part of the story. To which I say, unless you’ve been through such a

…situation stfu. And this morning I come across BSky posts talking about tie-in writing and how some individuals think it’s not creative, or “real writing” or some such bs. (It’s a load of crap - it absolutely takes skill and creativity to write stories in someone else’s IP)

A while back I had heard that there was going to be a book written for Astarion, a character from Balder’s Gate 3 (BG3), a game I have almost 400 hours logged in. While all the companion quests were great (imo) Astarion’s hit me the hardest. There were tears. So hearing there would be a book

Doing all the things this week. Haircut with Callie today. Some sort of color tomorrow with Dawn. SIL flying in this week and Inks & Drinks. Also had a cleaning service come in and today we’re having some wiring done in the house.

Yesterday we had a cleaning service come and do a clean of the house. I spent the time consoling Harley because her space was invaded by strangers and so much noise. Jack only showed interest in the mop water for a split second. Stella was confused and glued herself to me. They had a rough day.

Did I mention that I sold a painting at the Come as You Are festival? To a complete stranger? Someone I had just met? I know that might not sound like a big deal but most of my art to-date has been purchased by people I know. Which I am absolutely grateful for! But there’s something about…

… a complete stranger purchasing your work. No matter what it is, actually. This was my second art piece to go to a stranger since I started painting 3 yrs ago. And you know what impressed them? That I included an authenticity certificate. #art #painting #abstract

Of course I backed this to get the vinyl.

I finally get to tell you about Curiosities. I have a new album coming out Nov 13 that contains a murder ballad, a sea shanty, and a song about Roswell among other curious things. I can’t wait for you to hear it! Preorder on Kickstarter to help fund acoustic sessions, videos, and a live show!

Honestly, I think I always knew. Like always always.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

I have finished a play through of outer worlds 2. Might not have been the wisest decision given the state of *waves hands* but I did and that’s that. Spacer’s Choice became Auntie’s Choice (pronounced anti). The ads weren’t as catchy as they were in OW1. One wireless station reminded Matt …

… of Fallout more than the others (which isn’t surprising) I spent a lot of the early game listening to the AC wireless before ignoring it completely. I wasn’t nearly as invested in the character we play in OW2 like I was in OW1. Right now if I do decide to do a second play through it will be…

How do you explain to a kid that is going around taking pictures of individual stickers (w/o asking btw) to make stickers for his phone that he has essentially stolen your art. (And while he can say he will delete it it’s easy enough to undelete at a later time.)

We are going to see how I fare on Saturday at the Come As You Are Festival after getting my Flu and Covid vaccines today. Might not have been my brightest move but I’ve not had a difficult experience in the past - I’m banking on that. In two weeks when I get the remaining vaccinations not so much.

I bought 2 more…now my show kit has 3 bins, 2 tables (4 ft & 6 ft), 1 chair, 1 canopy, 1 sign bar and a box of tent weights.

Think I need to get a second tote/bin. Actually what I need to do is get two more of these to be properly stackable and give me enough room to carry all my stuff for events. I’ve got a big Rubbermaid tote that’s just awkwardly heavy with all the stuff as I’ve refined my setup… #comeasyouarefestival

Rocklove ended their licensing agreement with Disney last month and had a mystery box blowout sale for a day to reduce stock before pulling pieces from the site on the 29th of September. I wasn’t fast enough to get a 3 box bundle but I did get 1 box from the Star Wars collection.

This is from the Lightsaber Workshop line where you put different pieces together. This was a core set for Duty and Resolve. I’m happy with it. I’d be happy regardless. I’m only a little sad that there won’t be anymore Star Wars pieces from Rocklove. I do look forward to seeing what comes next.

This bin was supposed to carry all the merchandise but I clearly failed to tetris it all into it. (No I won’t get a taller one to accommodate it. This shit is heavy for just me to carry.) My hopeful goal is three totes, two tables, one chair, and my canopy. Oh and the box with the tent weights.

All the fountain pens I inked up in September are still inked up. Had to ink up three additional pens. Went all wearingeul with these three for reasons. Couldn’t resist putting a bright pink in a completely black pen. And the other two were pre-determined by purchases specific to them. #oct #ink

And finally, the last part (4!) of my Dallas Pen Show haul I’m sharing. And it’s not fountain pens! I picked up a couple of journal covers. Don’t ask me why. I have plenty on my shelf waiting to be used. I saw the octopus cover at the Blackwater Craftworks table and was immediately drawn to it.

I think it appealed to my pirate side. I waited for a friend to decide if they wanted to get it before grabbing it for myself. The black leather journal cover was made at the show after I picked all the things out by Lanena Lynn. It is actually my first tri-fold.
