I watched a documentary on movies that came out in 1982. It makes me wonder why the movie industry is so lacking in good releases now? ET Poltergeist Blade Runner An Officer and a Gentleman Tootsie The Thing Pink Floyd The Wall First Blood Ghandi Something for everyone, and that's a partial list

When asked about the lies coming from the WH daily, members in Congress or those up for appointment engage in equivocating. Trump administration vocab term of the day: Equivocating: using unclear or confusing language on purpose to hide the truth or avoid taking a clear stand

It's very frustrating to be around someone that brags about how well off they are when they tip horribly and stick you with bills more often than not. You can't take it with you, so why be so selfish?

It's time we make some cards up of the people who are destroying the country .. Here's the starter set (Not a bad idea for campaign materials for Dems at some point, either) These guys are more destructive to the US than most terrorists around the World could have dreamed of.

Those videos of the gents who slashed through the NEH, wielding only a vaporous understanding of a questionable Executive Order? Thanks to @historians.org, @modernlanguage.bsky.social, and @acls1919.bsky.social for bringing the lawsuit that produced this material in discovery. Read (much) more ⬇️

Behold the dodo. They did not go extinct, like 250 years of US democracy, because a bunch of halfwit SCOTUS members decided presidents are immune from the law and corporations can buy elections with unlimited $.

There are a lot of good ideas in the Bull Moose Party platform, of Ted Roosevelt, that would be very useful today: Empower citizens: The initiative (voter proposed legislation). The referendum (voters can decide on a law). The recall (voters can remove an elected official).

Semi-regular reminder that a sane country would have already impeached and removed. But then again a sane country wouldn’t have elected a maniac criminal twice in the first place.

In a grotesque parody of justice, Kilmar Abrego Garcia—wrongly shipped to El Salvador's hellish prisons via "administrative error"—now faces deportation to Uganda in 72 hours, despite zero ties to the place. Bureaucratic malice at its finest. #ImmigrationReform

This has always been the GOP's strategy: 1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves. 2) Explode deficits 3) Use the debt as an excuse to demand cuts to vital programs that help millions. 4) Repeat.

Socially, there is freedom and liberty for all or not.. Economically, we can have a Government that invests, pragmatically, in progress and people, or not. In a well functioning Democracy, these support each other ..

Because there are no balls to be had in our Government. If our Congress was really “of the people”, they would have impeached that stupid orange moron a month ago and arrested Leon Muskrat for government corruption.

Trump shows journalists a gold card featuring his face: “For $5 million this could be yours” He does this on the very day the market wipes out $2.6 trillion in value, while millions of Americans fear for their jobs amid a looming recession. So out of touch
