Playboy has turned out to be a very interesting follow. This in particular is a story and a person I knew nothing about. (Warning: NSFW nudity). It is a little funny, though, that Playboy seems to be reinventing itself by making the "I only read it for the articles" joke literally true.

In 1981, Tula debuted as a Bond girl. Then, she was cruelly outed by tabloids. As a beautiful woman at the forefront of a socio-sexual rights struggle, Tula asked to pose for Playboy—again. In September 1991, she became the first out trans woman to appear in these pages in her own pictorial.

Why the fuck are former supporters invited on TV talk shows? Probably getting reimbursed for travel, accommodations, and stay, and then hired as experts? Because they changed their mind once they got hurt themselves? (1/...)

Yeah, no shit, so did I, but nobody gives me a book tour. Is this really where the fucking bar is to be considered a political leader? (3/3)

Why not invite someone, who never fell for a cult and has an ounce of empathy to rub against a braincell? Or, ya know, a victim? I'm not saying my insight would be profound, but come on. "hIs OpPoNeNt WaRnEd Us aLl tHiS wAs gOiNg tO hApPeN!!!!" (2/3)

As Trump makes concessions to Russia, he is showing weakness on a level unprecedented in modern US history. His position is so weak that it is unlikely to convince anyone. I’m in Munich and people keep asking me to decode Vance’s speech. OK: In Vance English “free speech” means “Let Musk run your elections” and “democracy” means “let Russia run your elections.” Now move on. 2025 is about what Europeans do, not what Americans say.

Chickenshit traitors. This whole jingoist maneuver is obviously a stupid distraction from the real issues, but maps are one of of my special interests. Google maps has turned comments off, but you can still comment on search results. (1/3)

When you read sources from the eighteenth century you'll find them filled with rants about the calcified structures of the political system. About how France just is in dire need of reform, or how the Holy Roman Empire is failing its subjects, or a little later in the nineteenth century how (1/5)

And then you close your sources and open up the news to find the executive questioning the separation of powers, , or discover how some people really struggle with the definition of "universal" in "universal human rights," (4/5)

or you spend the rest of your day determining your health coverage, or compile your tax information for a bureaucracy that already has the same info. But you mustn't stop screaming even if only the void listens. (5/5 END)

Austria-Hungary is incapable of meeting the needs of the time, or how the Ottoman Empire is the sick man on the Bosporus. And you wonder how the people in power did not see what was coming for them and the world around. Intelligent people and academics wrote those texts and analyses. (2/5)

Hey NYTimes — *now* you’re lighting the beacons? NOW?!? After months of “Sauron: Avatar Of Evil… Or Extreme Uniter?” thumbsucker reporting you’re screaming what we’ve known since 2015? Fuck all the way off.

You are up to date.
