you know we're about to enter a presidential election cycle when weirdo novelty candidates start organizing their presidential campaign committees

Gmail introduces an additional "AI inbox" with a list of outstanding "to-dos." Those to-dos are apparently responding to spam and meaningless PR pitches that have fuck all to do with my beat

POV you just walked into the office dressed like Austin Powers, fake teeth and all, and it's not a "wear your Halloween costume to work" kind of place

I brought my board when I went in 2023 and snagged a few mins before flying home. The Des Moines skatepark is really gigantic

With the Iowa Governor’s race on the horizon, Iowa is wondering: What happens if Chuck Grassley dies? @cheetah.bsky.social, in the latest edition of Press Pass, talks with Iowa voters and politicians about how they feel about the nonagenarian considering another term.

One of my favorite menswear adjacent things to see at airports are guys who wear two cowboy hats at once because they’re impossible to put in a suitcase without crushing but they want outfit options at their destination

Trump does so many bad things, for sure. He's the worst president in history. He's the most corrupt ever too by a thousand miles. But dammit I love it when he praises Christopher Columbus. It's the only thing he does right.

If someone broadcasts their performative anti-Columbus views every October, they're a dork. Don't listen to em. This is an unapologetically pro-Columbus account.

Tried to balance recent and all time faves as well as ones that sparked a love of reading as a kid. Caution: if your kid likes ancient Roman history, please read the twelve caesars before handing it off to him. It's extremely graphic lol. Was not ready for that as a 12 year old but oh well.

I really loved 'Lanterns' mainly because I love the Green Lantern. But I still hate that this is basically how every show operates these days.

The campaign featuring Ken Paxton's humiliated ex-wife urging Texans to vote for the GOP ticket despite "the elephant in the room" maybe changes a couple swing votes, but it also makes people google who is Angela Paxton? So it's impossible to say if it's bad or not

Eric Scmitt: You were assisted by an FBI agent, correct? Jack Smith: I'm not familiar with this Schmitt: He let you into his Toyota Supra to escape the police. Said he owes you a 10-second car. Smith: I believe, I, uh. I don't recall that but it sounds like the plot to the Fast and the Furious

SEN. SCHMITT: You said "if anyone orders merlot I'm leaving" JACK SMITH: I uh (checking notes) I do not recall SCHMITT: You said "I am not drinking any fucking merlot." Why were you in wine country? SEN. KLOBUCHAR: My colleague from Missouri is confusing Mr. Smith with Paul Giamatti.

Huge bummer when you’re just innocently trying to join and promote a movement that hates Black people, immigrants, and Jews — but then you discover that they have a dark side. apple.news/A9g-feRPSTme...

I wouldve included The Watchmen but I don't think single-season or miniseries should be included in "best TV shows." They're their own category.

Today is the feast day of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, one of my favorite saints. I carry this prayer card in my wallet. Definitely one of the most fascinating mystics if you ever wanna do a deep dive. Bilocation, battling demons, the Stigmata! Also he was portrayed by Shia LaBeouf for some reason.

I love Padre Pio so much that before we found out the gender, I thought if it was a boy I'd like to name him Pio after him. But I ultimately decided absolutely not, because then his initials would be "PP." Not gonna provide other kids with that kind of layup insult.
