I wonder if any of Ukraine's killers lost anybody close to them to Russian attacks while Starlink/Starshield were partially disabled. Revenge can be a private act. Elon Musk is apparently paranoid about attacks. If I was in charge of his security detail I'd up the threat level significantly.

movement characterized by resentment, nationalism, grievance, and the pursuit of power. That is an extraordinary betrayal of the Church. And perhaps the greatest irony is that many of those participating in it still believe they are defending Christianity. -Murry Evans

Not a fan of having to watch a video to get a message. I hate having to wait a long time to hear what somebody has to say. It is so much faster for me to read what takes somebody talking many minutes to state. The end result is that I skip most videos as of little value.

Repost so everyone in your timeline sees this! Is there anyone left in the world that doesn’t believe trump did this despicable shit?!!

😱😱😱 And just like that, it’s completely VANISHED from the media. A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children. Lets make this viral again 👇

I grew up in Alaska so this whole “the kids can’t go to school in the dark” is funny to me. We survived just fine. 🤣 We also managed to go to sleep at night when the sun never really sets.

For generations, Vermonters and Quebecers have shared families, communities, and deeply close connections.   But even with that in mind, we’re still facing the fallout from stunts that Kristi Noem pulled, and we have small businesses that won’t survive this trade war.

The move toward significant partisanship in elections might end up with hard asses running the federal government - no more give and take. No more 'because they need it'. What happens if one party really controls the government to the point where it is 'cooperate or else'? Really close now.

Future Dem gov't could tell a state "Have fair elections, or lose." If a state gerrymanders so that no Democrats are elected to Congress it might find itself with no hands in the government pot. Gee, too bad, turn about is fair play when we've seen the Trump administration denying disaster $.

I used to support the Biden approach - help those state which need it, even if not supporters. Now, not so much. MAGA 'Bite the hand that feeds you' has demonstrated we need a harsher approach. I feel uncomfortable adopting a more confrontational approach but here we are. Anger/what works?

It may be that the only effective method to minimize the power of gerrymandering is to dramatically expand the size of Congress. The average population of a representative's district when the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929 passed was 279,770 people. 1220 representatives in 2026. & DC a state

Presidential pardons - one could argue that a pardon issued after the president has been impeached, though before he has been convicted by the Senate, to be invalid once he has been convicted. This would seem to particularly apply if one of the charges was accepting bribes for issuing pardons.

Trump promising to pardon anyone who comes near the White House must surely be an impeachable offense in of itself. A promised pardon is an incitement to criminal action, itself a criminal act, I assume. Hard to believe that we could sink so low, but here we are.

The generals who replace the generals fired by Hegseth/Trump must be aware that they will be held accountable in the future. I wonder what goes through their minds. I think it likely they are wishing that Congress, the people with explicit power, would get off its ass and get rid of Donald Trump.

I wonder if there is an alternate path to justice/award for damages if Trump pardons somebody. Is there a path that injured parties can now take for the same crime at the state level? Or is that double jeopardy, even though the initial jeopardy was taken away?

Of course Putin wants the Ukraine war to end - but only on his terms. I am so glad that the Ukrainians, with support from many European nations, is doing so well against that evil empire. And it is clear Donald Trump is at the beck and call of Vladimir Putin, so the USA fails its responsibility.

Just watched CNN showing that the bulk of Strait of Hormuz oil goes to India, China, Japan, and South Korea and the United States produces 22% of the world's oil. They did NOT show that that the oil market is world wide, that those countries are now competing for oil from others, pushing up prices.

Iran If changing the past was easy: American administration of years/decades past persuades/blackmails Saudi Arabia into building pipelines with enough capacity to bypass the Strait of Hormuz to provide a respectable amount of oil to the rest of the world in case of conflict with/blackmail of Iran

I believe that Netanyahu is evil. It doesn't mean that Israel, as a whole, is evil. I believe Trump is awful in so many ways. It doesn't mean that the United States, as a whole, is awful. Yes, both countries put them in power. Both countries have a LOT to repair after these times.

I'm a dreamer I'd love to see a future administration charge Hegseth and others for the crime of attacking the school with all those young girls. Maybe AI selected it based on prior history. Where was the verification? "Go Go Go Let's go kill!" Certainly Hegseth and Trump set the tone/policy.

Interesting - I just got an email "FETTERLETTER" from Senator Fetterman. My connection with Pennsylvania is that I have driven through Pennsylvania many times and, one time, I flew into Philadelphia to catch a connecting flight. Of course, I have donated to other, real, Democrats so ...

Hmm, I wonder if people who paid money to get pardons can get charged and convicted for their bribery, even though we can't recharge them for their original crimes? (I'm assuming we can't void pardons) Of course, I'd like to see Trump and pardon facilitators get charged and serve prison time, too.

Home schooling - It's an extremely rare adult so broadly educated they can adequately teach every different child of theirs, especially through the high school level. How well can a parent teach all of their children to maximize their individual strengths? I've seen it fail and still pisses me off

I'd like to see a member of Congress tell Pam Bondi which criminal charges she will face when Trump is no longer in power, the jail time she will serve, and, in addition, be told that Donald Trump will not do a thing to save her, even if he has the ability to at the time.

If almost 1 in 4 non-federal workers in Alaska are non-residents it may be time to bring back the income tax. Those people are using Alaska roads and other services without paying for it.

Why is the new Icebreaker port being placed in Juneau? Is there routine need for icebreaker in Southeastern Alaska? I would have thought a more westerly port would make more sense. Expand Kodiak, do something in the Aleutians? Grew up in Fairbanks so know almost nothing about Southeastern Alaska

I see that the Republicans want to attach the SAVE act to must pass legislation. NOTHING is MUST PASS if it includes the SAVE act. I really DO NOT care what the "must pass" legislation contains. Pass a NEW bill that covers what needs to be covered, WITHOUT the SAVE act.

My partner was waiting a very long time on hold with Geico for an auto insurance claim. I said "It must be all those windows broken by ICE." I could have been talking about the weather. I wasn't.

I will be so intolerant of a future Democratic administration that doesn't go after ALL of the MAGA who violate the law. The actions of every person in ICE should be reviewed in detail. Yes, I know many predated the current admin. Then the appointees - actions and how many bribes were paid? JAIL

I do feel uncomfortable being so vindictive - but I also have a rational feeling that crime by privileged (for whatever reason) people is often not penalized enough to discourage the bad behavior by themselves (think Donald Trump) or others. The bullshit that they're good people who made a mistake.

I just called my Representative in D.C. and got a message that the message system is undergoing an upgrade and is inaccessible. I wonder what the volume of calls might be that would stress a message system or not allow calls to go through.

People are so upset about mail in ballots. Perhaps it is time that election days be non-work days. I don't know why Tuesdays, now a typical work day, are election days - perhaps tied in with market days back then? The federal government could add days for federal elections as official holidays.

Is it accessory to murder to forbid a real investigation though video evidence shows a murder occurred? In my simple non-lawyer mind, those preventing a charge of murder being brought before a court when people can see that a murder occurred are accessories to the crime and should go to jail.

I am so angry about the shooting by ICE in Minneapolis. Will this be a trigger for stronger action against Trump and gang? Which side will the 2nd amendment crowd take? And how will the nation react to that?

The Post Office is an essential government service and has been from the beginning. We came to rely on the posted date. Congress can pass a law that requires the post office to date each piece of mail as soon as the mail enters its system - no waiting for transportation to some central facility.

Seems simple to me: raise min wage over planned years, drop tax rates for low to mid earners. Rise in min wage yields increase demand and more than offsets inflation for those people. Lower taxes for mid earners offsets inflation for them. From fines bad rich people pay, no inflation pain there.

I think it likely that the delays in postmarking are part of former Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's 'optimization' of the Post Office. The 'belief' that the Post Office is a business and not an essential service so has to adapt processes that are good from a business perspective only. Rural->Sad

My finance professor was Fischer Black. He loved talking about and explaining the Black-Scholes pricing model. He was looking for IT people to help test/use the model at the time. I thought it quite interesting but had no (zero) interest in a career in finance or playing the stock market. Ha Ha

The Republicans were the new hope in the 1850s and 1860s but went off the rails by the 1880s, captured by the corrupt. Whatever they may have become this time around, they've followed their 19th century path. Time to purge and renew.
