Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

Unbelievable loss. An amazing talent, and just a really, really good person. www.instagram.com/p/De8RFy4pyov/

some more drawings from last year. some were only finished last year after being started and abandoned for a while. i dont think any of these are worth posting on their own but some of them look neat #art #drawing #sketchbook #inkdrawing #abstractart

Semi-related to this but the process of rescanning all my work has turned me into a .webp evangelist. I can get .png quality output for 1/8th the filesize. I no longer have to turn my art into crunchy half-size jpegs to post them anywhere with strict upload limits

This one is from last year. I have a lot of 2025 stuff to get through. Hard drive got corrupted around the start of the year and I spent most of my free time rescanning *everything,* including a lot of finished art that was unposted. It was an absolute hellish slog but I am finally caught up.

the difference wont matter to most people but I scan images at 5000x3000 600dpi and at that size png is 40mb and webp is 5mb. it feels like sorcery

I would say "its not bad anymore!" but it never was! so many websites just had the most user-unfriendly protocol in the universe where all images would be saved as webp files, but webp was the *only* image format they wouldn't let you upload. that is not a webp problem every website was just bad!

Fascinating in a depressing way watching every single app, service, and program simultaneously self-immolate either to gobble up more private info, appeal to payment processors, or chase deleterious fantasy technology. It feels like a race to the bottom right now.

we have nothing left!! discord's selling your data to poorly secured third parties. The entirety of bsky staff has AI psychosis. twitter is ran by a fascist pedophile, tumblr is censorship happy, patreon disables your account of you breathe wrong, youtube's demonetization algo is inscrutable

& there's plenty of good alternatives. The real issue is user numbers. So much of the modern internet now is built on huge centralized user bases. There's only so many times users can keep migrating and fracturing before the process becomes a bigger point of friction than the site issues themselves.

I still think Bluesky is one of the least bad options for a number of reasons (same view I've had since I made an account here), but I'm really starting to agree with the people who said that it would've been the best case scenario if everyone flocked to Mastodon after Elon bought twitter.

holy shit!! artists!!! you guys!! pinlite.app someone made a pinterest facade site that just strips away all the dumb bullshit and gives you only the images this is AMAAZINNNGGGG. Not to mention the web 1.0 grey and blue link vibe lol

I really like the new little feature where bsky lets you know if someone followed you via those curated lists users make. I've been getting a few follows from the "gore and body horror artists" list lately.

My mom would've been 60 on the 1st of this month. It's been more than 10 years and I still feel blindsided every October.

I never talk about personal stuff online, but this year has been a total wash. Maybe I'll get into it at some point but right now things are clearing up just a tiny bit and I am filled with a burning desire to make up for lost time. I miss people. I miss creating! I miss a lot of things!!

Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection

Went tent camping with some family for a weekend this month and spent most of my free time drawing in a tiny sketchbook. #art #drawing #sketchbook

That couple of days was so good I coasted on the feeling for the rest of the week. I was productive & relaxed in a way that made me realize I forgot what either of those things felt like.
