My apologies to so many. I have been unsure of how to move forward since my husband, who was the loudest voice behind this account (and I, but a smidge of snark), passed away from the complications of cancer in April. It's Disability Pride Month, and spreading awareness is all I know to do.

And yet, MAGA has complained in the past about how "Demonrats use the dead to fake votes." What in the hell is it when your government is too slow and stupid to fix a broken system? What is it called when THEY refuse to label the dead completely dead? What do we do? How do we fix this mess?

My husband was, and I am disabled. We were/are both mocked and dismissed by the medical staff we choose to care for us. We were/are overlooked and undertreated by the insurance companies who were supposed to care for us. We are mere talking points for the politicians who use us to garner votes.

7 dollar gas. Well, I guess I'll buy an electric car. Oh those are 60 thousand dollars? Well at least electricity is cheap. Oh the government won't build solar panels because it's "Too transgender"? Well at least wages are going up. Oh the idea of jobs is fake now? Well at least everyone is happ

Codifying Roe, passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, and holding members of this administration criminally accountable are important goals, but none of it sticks without Supreme Court reform.

Texas voters just sent the book banners packing. Not in California. Not in New York. In Texas. Across the state, voters went to the polls and threw out right-wing school board members who built their local political brands on book bans, anti-LGBTQ policies and Christian nationalist culture-war panic

This is such incredible bullshit. I am alive, thriving, and writing books on health policy/politics thanks to antidepressants. Antidepressants aren't for everyone, but they can be literal lifesavers. Attacking their prescribing & use is stigmatizing and dangerous. www.nytimes.com/2026/05/04/s...

I didn't realize Gov Landry in Louisiana is literally *using a natural disaster law* to invoke an emergency to suspend House elections in time to redraw district lines. "Hurricane Black People Might Get Representation" I guess is the name of the storm law.justia.com/codes/louisi...

Funny how Republicans rediscover deficit panic only when a Democrat is president. The Congressional Budget Office now says projected deficits are expected to be $2 trillion higher over the next decade after SCOTUS' recent tariff ruling and Trump's recent policy changes.

Please donate and share if you can. I didn't expect to be losing my partner this week. I keep trying to remain hopeful, but his prognosis is grim. Yes, this is Jeremy who started this BlueSky duet. I am beside myself with grief. There's no support system, no one to talk to. I need #help.

The affordability crisis isn’t an accident — it’s driven by concentrated corporate power. Just look at the latest evidence in California's price-fixing case against Amazon.
