ie this psychiatrist I worked with who was forever giving people with narcissistic traits "the benefit of the doubt" he was not enough degrees of separation away from the sin to be willing to lose sight of a path to redemption if men were irredeemable he'd have to question his own lecherousness

hi I'm an abolitionist who worked inpatient psych in a prison with people convicted of sexual assault abusers CAN grow & change but IMO people who hold the door open for abuser redemption must feel as if they themselves HAVE been redeemed from what they see as a similar / slightly less horrible sin

Ever notice "abusers can grow and change" uniformly comes from people who haven't actually checked if someone grew or changed? It's like a magic wand of sentiment they wave over harm.
