Northern Powergrid have just sent out an email about what to do if there is a power cut. The Government have told us to stockpile essentials. It looks like it might be an uncomfortable winter.

Canon make great cameras and lenses. Their software, however, is really, really bad. I wonder if anyone at Canon ever uses a modern computer. If they have they will realise just how terrible their UI is. C'mon Canon, get with it!

I'm part of Men in Sheds Haltemprice. We are thinking about our name: 'Men' and 'Haltemprice'. We have women members and would welcome more. No one knows where Haltemprice is. We are thinking about changing to 'Anlaby Shed'. What do you think?

The Bank of England uses interest rates to control inflation. When interest rates go up banks make extra revenue for nothing, so that extra evenue should be taxed at 100% so that money benefits the nation not banks.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not working royals and we have been told many times. The BBC covers some event they are at on the News, with a piece by the BBC Royal Correspondent. I assume that's someone who reports about the royals, not royalty working for the BBC.

Dear YouTube, please use some of Google's AI magic to delete YT videos that throw random pictures up vaguely around a subject and string junk narrative to it in a mid-Atlantic accent. YT is being dragged into the pit of slime with this junk, you can fix this.

Do Ferrari want to win an F1 race? Hamilton needs an engineer who understands him and a team that can think fast enough to make strategy changes when things evolve. Ferrari need to improve radically.

Sir Jim thinks Britain is failing. His dream of Brexit has dragged our economy down and killed growth, something he knows about: Man U owner, how are they doing? Ineos Grenadier, sales tanking. Stick to your cash cow of oil and live where you want, you don't pay UK tax anyway, how patriotic.

Local male sparrow hawk just took a sparrow. He flew off with his prize before I could grab a photo. Good to see the hawk, but bad luck on the sparrow.

Cold caller knocks at the door selling some crap I don't want. My stock answer is 'I don't have any money mate', and off they go to find the next punter. Works every time.

Trump orders lake Ontario to be renamed. I think we should rename the White House to the Asylum and Mar-a-largo the Retirement Home for Demented Seniors. Do you think this might catch on?

Fybocalm is made by Reckitt, a very competent and experienced company at advertising and marketing. Why, oh why do they use Medifacts to make their TV adverts? Medifacts ads are horrible and do nothing to build a brand that Reckitt is usually really good at. A bad choice.

The house martins are all doing their dusk flight, trying to grab as much food as they can before it gets dark. They be full up in an hour's time when they really need to start!

BBC News: Hydrogen is NOT a green fuel. Almost all of the hydrogen is generated by steam reforming methane ('natural' gas). That process emits huge amounts of CO₂ and uses loads of energy too. Hydrolysis needs very clean water and lots of electricity, which we don't have in excess either.

What the hell is BBC News doing? Is the extremely predictable eclipse really the headline? Then, to cap it all, Pallab Ghosh fluffs his interview - he really is not up to the job. C'mon BBC, you must do better.

BBC News is showing aerial imagery to show how dry it is. Of course it is dry and very hot, but many of the yellow fields shown on the images are ripe crops and should look like that.

The UK Government needs more money to spend on many areas. I have an idea: stop buying MicroSoft licences for things that can be replaced with OpenSource software. It would free up hundreds of millions of pounds, EVERY YEAR, and break another dependancy on the US.

So Peter Levy invites comments on BBC Look North on the investigation into Richard Tice, but only from Reform supporters! It really is time that man walked. (Levy and Tice!) #BiasedBroadcastingCorp

BBC Look North EY&L has gone full culture wars. First acting surprised that prices have gone up, followed by a whole piece about the Union flag. It really is time for proper change, why fill half an hour of TV on BBC One with this junk?

I suspect that if the French navy fired at Chris Philp in the channel, they would have hit him. They are professional sailors and know what they are doing, unlike Philp. Why was he there? What did he expect to achieve other than stirring another culture war pot. I'm glad he is safe, his seat is not.

When a butterfly flies up from the path in front of you and you wonder why you didn't see it before it flew up ... Here's what a meadow brown looks like on the ground with folded wings. It is hard to see.

I like watching the BBC coverage of the Hundred, but that New Zealand accent really, REALLY grates on me and spoils the whole spectacle. Not even useful comments IMO.

Trump is pissed off that Iran has tried to charge a fee for shipping to pass through the strait of Hormuz, so pissed off that he retaliates by imposing a 20% charge himself. What is this dickhead on?

Tennis has been on TV, solidly, for two weeks. Now the finals are over they still have guff on. People standing around, then walking around a building meeting non-tennis people. When, WHEN will this awful bollocks end? I guess it's cheap, it is certainly dreadful.

Young magpie can't manage to perch on the feeder, but has worked out that if it crashes into it, food spills on the ground where it is the boss. They are smart.

It is reported that Farage has pulled RefUK campaigners away from the Manchester mayoral election to focus on his by-election. RefUK is in with a shout in Manchester which would be a huge win, but he's so scared of losing to a man wearing a bin that he has diverted RefUK resources to Clacton.

Farage has an announcement at 2pm. I'm expecting him to say he is joining the BBC taking over from Fiona Bruce as the host of Question Time. Will anyone notice?

Someone just showed me a YouTube suggested video section. It was for Current Affairs satire. The first video was 11 year old, the second was 5 years old. Current?

I do wonder just much more #LookNorthEY&L can squeeze out of Brexit. Second day in a row about it. Of course they go to Boston that voted the most to leave, but not to anywhere that voted to remain. Of course I can't link to Look North here, they only inhabit the Xwitter cesspit.

The RW Look North doesn't miss any trick to get Reform on the telly. Today it was Tice; surprised they found him in the UK as he seems to live in Dubai.

Yodel and InPost have merged. i am being encouraged to use the InPost app rather than the Yodel app. Yodel was not always a great experience, but the InPost app is crap. I guess they are more cost effective by not spending money on an app that works.

It seems as though every thing has an epicentre nowadays, even though it means the point on the Earth's surface closest to an underground explosion or earthquake. It seems a shame to corrupt language like this; why not use a better word or even invent a new one?

There seems to be a feeling that England men's cricket team is doing so well to thrash NZ, but the pitch at Lord's was awful. Batters stood no chance and bowlers just had to hit a length and let the pitch's uneven bounce take wickets. Tougher games will follow.

When a pack of cigarettes cost £15+ why does anyone think a £5 deposit on a vape will really deter anyone from just throwing it away. The deposit needs to be at least £25 and the penalty for discarding a vape should be £500 minimum. Vapes cause serious fires.
