I’ve been working with @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social since he was campaigning to create the Office of Deed Theft Prevention, and now, it’s a reality. We will continue to use every lever of power within City Hall to keep New Yorkers in their homes, and finally bring an end to Black displacement.

For too long, City government has stood idly by while homeowners fall victim to criminal deed theft. Those days are over. We're creating the City's first Office of Deed Theft Prevention. If you think you or someone you know may be a victim of deed theft, visit nyc.gov/deedfraud. @chiosse.bsky.social

LGBTQ+ history is American history. I’m proud to stand alongside my @council.nyc.gov colleagues @chiosse.bsky.social and Justin Sanchez to demand the return of the Pride flag to Stonewall. 🏳️‍🌈

In a letter to the National Park Service, @speakermenin.bsky.social, alongside LGBTQIA+ Caucus Co-Chairs @chiosse.bsky.social and Justin Sanchez, denounced the Trump administration’s removal of the Pride flag from the Stonewall National Monument and urged its immediate return.

At a rally in Union Square right now, Council member @chiosse.bsky.social tells the crowd, “We certainly need to abolish ICE, but that’s not enough—we need Nuremberg trials.”

4 senior House Dems — Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark, Pete Aguilar, & Ted Lieu — voted for a Republican-led resolution to “CONDEMN SOCIALISM,” a symbolic measure that passed the chamber on Wed. The vote comes as NYC mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is set to meet with Pres. Donald Trump at the WH today.

This is the message ahead of #NoKings day, and if your local politicians aren't preaching it, well... they better start. Or maybe they'll end up like Cuomo.

I believe that we will win.

The City Council literally has to sue the Adams administration to make them enforce a law expanding rental assistance. I can’t wait for Zohran to be mayor.

Thanks to @chiosse.bsky.social and the City Council, the law is crystal clear: if a landlord hires a broker, they pay the fee. Now the City must actively enforce it.

New York City cannot afford to deal with an Andrew Cuomo mayorship, especially during this catastrophic presidency. Ranked Choice Voting allows good candidates to team up without splitting the vote to defeat bad ones. These are my first endorsements:

INTs 81-A, 1052-A, & 56-A (sponsored by CM Kevin Riley, CM Crystal Hudson, @chiosse.bsky.social) expand oversight within the city’s foster care system by requiring additional reporting, expansion of ACS' foster youth experience survey, and a new survey & report on placements of LGBTQ+ foster youth.

This is untrue. Not only did we try to allocate funds to your organization (which isn’t a registered 501c3), you also ghosted my office when we reached out to you about other funding options and finding you a different location for you to host your distribution.

It’s time we end forced brokers' fees. We can't lose to New York City. Proud to collab with @enriquepepen.bsky.social, @votejivan.bsky.social, & @willieburnleyjr.bsky.social to get this done—and grateful to @chiosse.bsky.social for leading the charge on this in NYC!

BREAKING: Cambridge City Councilor @votejivan.bsky.social is moving to end forced broker fees in Cambridge. This comes as NYC—led by @chiosse.bsky.social—passed legislation earlier this month ending forced broker fees.

Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler@votejivan.bsky.social

I’m sponsoring a policy order for a hearing on ending brokers’ fees to rent an apt at Monday’s Council meeting. Tenant-paid brokers’ fees add thousands to the cost just to move into an apt. And with NYC passing a ban this week, Cambridge will be one of the few cities left with them

NY’s water reservoirs are cumulatively at 60% capacity, with some even at 30% because of this unprecedented drought. At the same time, Trump nominated a climate change denying, fracking executive to lead our country’s Energy Department. 🙃

Dr. Albert Vann mentored generations of New Yorkers as an educator, activist and member of the State Assembly and City Council. Today, @chiosse.bsky.social joined Attorney General Tish James and other elected officials and community leaders to unveil the new Dr. Albert Vann Way to honor his legacy.
